ABOUT ME

Hello CSers, I am an Aussie, currently living and working in the heart of Auckland city with my British boyfriend, William. We are a chilled out couple and have been enjoying the laid back lifestyle in New Zealand for about six months now. We like meeting people and are happy to have gatherings with new travelers to share stories, drinks, food or even a game of tennis perhaps.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Participated in Berlin CS pub crawl and met interesting travelers.
Joined the Zurich CS group to check out the Street Parade even though it was raining and muddy, it was still fun to see.

Couchsurfed with Christoph in Berlin and it was such a positive and fun experience for my first surf!!

Interests

I love watching live performances...all kinds of music (I play a bit of guitar)...I'm inspired by art, film, photography, literature, history, yoga, meditation...I'm keen to play tennis, golf, swim, hike through mountains and explore cities...and travel of course.

I also ride a 1982 Suzuki GN250 motorbike back home in Australia.

...Dancing, any kind any time...you can stop me mid-sentence for a spin on the dance floor...even if there isn't one :) I took salsa lessons once...be nice to do that again at some stage.

..mmm, and writing...I like to write a lot...

Music, Movies, and Books

I like blues rock, grunge rock, rock n' roll music. I also like fun dancing tunes. Reggae... classical...heavy metal, old skool hip hop...a bit of jazz...bit of soul... lots of soul actually...basically anything with a good beat and lots of bass...whatever mood takes me really...I even like the occasional diva singing the house down!

My latest fave's are Ladyhawk, Kings of Leon, Groove Armada, The Baby Animals, AC/DC, Joe Bonamassa and Deep Purple, Muse, Architecture In Helsinki, The Pixies + loads more.

Books: "The Fountain Head", by Ayn Rand..."Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert (just finished it on my travels - it was so inspiring)... anything Shakespeare... oh, so many more I can't think of right now...

Films: The Castle (classic Aussie film); Kill Bill; True Romance; Slumdog Millionaire; Amelie (French film); Lord of the Rings - trilogy; Along Came Polly; Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon...documentaries like The Gleaners; Standing in the Shadows of Mowtown... and the list could go on and on if I let it...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming with the dolphins in the open seas off the coast of the Bay of Islands in New Zealand = MAGIC!

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe we can learn something from anyone and everyone we encounter. I hope to continue learning about compassion and finding a good balance of a happy and successful existence...I would also like to learn/ teach/ trade any info on other cultures and allow doors of opportunities for open communication across borders and cultures to flow.
