About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be all that we can be. And take advantage of every moment we have available.

ABOUT ME

Brian: I'm usually a pretty mellow person. I love to have fun, enjoy meeting new people, and going new places. I love music and dancing! I'm still kinda looking for my niche in the world. I can be passionate about a lot of different things but also passivity has gotten the best of me too many times. Nonetheless, I won't stop till I drop.

Heather: I would describe myself as considerate, creative and quirky. I love reading, art, crafts, pets, eating and music. I try to be "green" and "natural". Recently I've been working on living in the moment, finding happiness within myself and also being an authentic version of me.

PHILOSOPHY

"Wherever you go, there you are" and "Those not busy being born, are busy dying". I'm gonna try to make an impact.

"Grow where you're planted"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting and Surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We love everything about it; it's such a great concept and reminds us of the good of humanity. Last year we went on a 6 week trip to Europe, and couchsurfed for the first time. We also recently hosted someone and look forward to participating more in the future!

Interests

Brian: I swear it could be basically anything on this great, green, blue, brown, tan earth. I need more hobbies. I like music A LOT, sports, politics, history, debate, space, time...

Heather: I'm interested in nature, literature, emotions and creativity, among other things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Brian: Anything Grateful Dead related. Same with Phish. I love lots of different music though, not just the afore mentioned bands. Incubus, My Morning Jacket, Ryan Adams, Brand New, Yonder Mountain String Band, just to name a top few. Any kind of thought provoking films such as "I Heart Huckabees" or "Waking Life", good dramas, thrillers, comedy's, etc. Favorite books are The Count of Monte Cristo, 1984, and a few others.

Heather: Music-wise I like all kinds of rock--punk, emo, alternative, folk, indie, classic, dubstep, techno. I like rap, hiphop, oldies, some classical and jazz. I like some pop music but don't make a habit of listening to it. In terms of movies, I like comedy, romance and drama. Books--I prefer fiction/drama. My favorite author is Louise Erdrich.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Brian: Rainbow Gathering would probably take the cake so far. A free society living in the national forests, operating without any monetary system. Even if for only a couple weeks, it was amazing seeing such a large community of people living together without the daily "punch you in the eye" of advertising and capitalism. A very naturalistic way to be and a place I would like to find again.

Heather: Study abroad trip in 2006. Opened my eyes to the world and filled me with a sense of possibility and excitement. Best thing I've done!
