About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Preparing to move to France.

ABOUT ME

I still don't know if someone can really describe oneself properly or, put in other terms, wether this sort of description would be of any value for other people. However, what follows are just some useful hints about my way of life.
1. I am alergic to cats, mould and cigarettes.
2. I am not particularly fond of religious preaching.
3. I hate soccer and I cannot dance samba.
I am told to be talkative, pleasing and funny, and I think I really am, specially when I drink red wine (beer can make it too).

PHILOSOPHY

Epicurean, in the classical meaning of the expression, i.e., I am agnostic, don't believe in life after death, try to achieve the holy freedom of fear and try to discipline my pleasure.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Barroque, Bossa Nova and Disco...
Movies: Fellini, Pasolini, Fassbinder, Truffaut, Bergman, among many others. The last good movie I saw is "Les Chansons d´Amour", de Christophe Honoré (yes, Louis Garrel is the leading role).
Books: André Gide, Genet, Yourcenar, Bernardo Carvalho, Mann, Isherwood, Borges... Last read: "Cordilheira", a great surprise, by Eduardo Galera.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A long walk, in the winter, with a dog.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Oh, boy, that is a hard one! As a professional teach-er, I don't think much about teaching in my spare time. (lol) Anyway, I think I can teach non-Italians how to make a decent risotto.
Learn: Other cultures, new ways of thinking. Every person, if correctly provocated, may be a source of learning.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, Germany, Italy
