I only host people who read my profile, or at least some of it.
I have a "secret" word that you need to include in your request, but don't worry it's not a big secret, you will find it just underneath the first smiley sun face.

This first bit with all the smiley suns is more for guests than host since I host more than I surf. I do really enjoy surfing to though, so hope I will be hosted by you some day 🙂

I'm renting out my guest room at the moment and my tenant isn't super comfortable with me doing couchsurfing. So at the moment I'm only hosting for 1 or 2 nights. And most likely only women. I am the boss of my own apartment though 😂, so send me a request anyway and we see

Please don't send requests more than a month in advance. I will most likely decline it. I accept up to a month, but 2 weeks or less is ideal for me
I understand that's not convenient for many of you and you like to plan ahead. But I'm not a planer myself and would like to give a better chance to other surfers who are like me. Sorry about that
Also, couchsurfing isn't like a hotel and shouldn't be booked far in advance, in my opinion 😉

I don't mind profiles without references (if you are a woman) we all got to start somewhere. Empty profiles i don't find very inspiring though. Think of it this way, hosts are inviting strangers in to their homes, we want to at least know a little bit of you.

Thought I really enjoy hosting and meeting people I can't do it all the time. I host maybe 1 to 3 times a month. That way I have more time and energy for my guest🙂

I block off dates in the hosting calendar when I either have plans or don't want to host right then. My calendar is usually up do date. If you can't send request because dates are blocked it won't help sending messages, sorry

And one for the men.
I don't mind hosting men, I've hosted (and stayed with) a lot of great men. I do not host men who doesn't have references though. Preferably 5-10, but might make exceptions for a good request and profile. Nor do I host men who only stay with women, very suspicious😂

I'm fully aware that all this might make me sound very strickt, maybe even a Karen. I promise I'm not so strickt in real life though and don't think I ever been called a Karen 😂
Sorry if it puts you off, it's just my way of trying to avoid those who only sees CS as a free hotel. If someone can't even be bothered reading a few lines of a profile why should I bother to host them 🤷‍♀️.
I hope my references speak for themselves and show what kind of person I am

I guess I'm an old school couchsurfer and believes the social aspect of CS is far more important that saving money.
I'm very flexible with how you want to spend your time though. When I surf myself I usually am out during the day and prefer to explore on my own, but always try to be back at my host's place between 18-20
I don't expect anything from my guests other than that they at least show some interest in getting to know me a bit, but at the same time don't feel like you have to limit your holiday.
You can totally do your own thing. If I have time (and the energy) I don't mind showing people around the city and it's usually not difficult to convince to go for a drink or coffee either😂. I will most likely give you a key though, so you can come and go as you want
I'm generally a flexible person. Every couchsurfing experience is different, you just got to go with the flow. That's whats so great about it🙂.

As I said, I love couchsurfing (it used to be better though) Been using in since 2009 and I've met so many amazing people, as a host, as a guest or just meeting up with people. It has really had a impact on my life and how I travel. Seeing a place from a local perspective is an important part of travelling for me, couchsurfing gives me that opportunity.
And when I'm not travelling I can invite the world home to me 🙂

My profile used to say I love travelling no matter if it was to a hot or cold place. That is not true anymore, I've developed a hature for winter 😂. I might still travel to cold places, but I'm definitely more of a summer girl
Not very Norwegian of me I know 😂I'm not outdoorsy or fit either. I'm happy to walk around a city all day, but I probably won't join you for a hike

Nor am particularly in to partying either. (I'm so boring😂) Love beer and pubs, but absolutely not in to clubs.

I usaualy prefer wandering around exploring on my own during the day,but like to spend time with my host during the evening,have a few beers (or wine) get to know them.
I cook for a living, I don't really do that much when I'm travelling. Also Norwegian food is boring 😂 so I probably won't cook for my host. I love trying local food though, so will very happily try my host's specially or invite them out for dinner. Don't worry, I'm not picky or critical, so you don't have to be scared of cooking for me😂
