ABOUT ME

I am a really easy going guy, that is traveling Europe with friend from school for the summer. I have been to Greece and Italy before, but not many other places and not in several years. I would really like to get to know the cultures of the different countries and regions we visit. In general, I want to have a good time without spending too much money and while meeting a lot of different people.

In college I was a competitive runner in Cross Country and Track and Field. Because I was running three seasons I did not have much of a chance to travel and really want to try and make for lost time this summer. If anyone hosting is also a runner that would be great I think running is one of the best ways to get to know an area and would love to get in some good runs.

PHILOSOPHY

Personally, I believe do onto others and you would want for yourself. I think the more people get to know each other and respect each other the better the world will be.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think CS is a great way to not only travel cheaply, but also to meet people and get to know the culture of a region. Its nice to get away from some of the touristy areas and see what life is like in different parts of the world.

In the future I plan to participate in hosting in the states. I will have a house in Connecticut in the fall and would be happy to host anyone that is visiting the area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not participated yet, but I have heard great things and am really looking forward to checking it out.

Interests

I like being outdoors, running and hiking. I am a decent skier, but have not done any mountains outside New England. I also really enjoy art and exploring cities. I am very independent and can get by well on my own, but really enjoy being around people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Kurt Vonnegot a lot, especially his earlier work like Breakfast of Champions and Sirens of Titan. I also like Robert Penn Warren and poetry by Robert Frost, Ted Hughes, and Sylvia Plath.

My favorite movies are pretty standard I guess... I like the Godfather and The Shawshank Redemption. I also really like Pan's Labyrinth and most things by Spike Lee and Woody Allen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have run up the tallest peak in MA and also on the Anza trail in California. I have also appeared on the game show the price is right with Bob Barker.
