About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to make the most out of mud!

ABOUT ME

I grew up the son of nomadic divorcees, always from everywhere. I went to Yale University in Connecticut and it changed my life. I met people that challenged me in every way and cursed me with a desire to do Everything. Since graduating I have worked as a first-grade teacher in London and a Wall Street investment banker in New York. Other things I want to be, at some point: rich, poor, a surfer, a musician, a writer, a woodworker, a carpenter, a sailor, a dad. I have traveled extensively and one way or another seem to always go back to that. I lost my job in November of 2008 and, after trying momentarily to be a singer and an actor, decided to hit the road again. My latest mission is learning about organic agriculture, sustainable living, and natural construction and have been living in Patagonia to that end. I am generally more practical than impulsive, but over the past seven months of travel have done a lot to shatter that. I love to laugh.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in listening. I believe in challenging oneself, and in being many things at once.

to practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow--kurt vonnegut

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I fill out my profile, I have drinks with couchsurfers in bsas and make plans to visit them again soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I randomly ended up at a couchsurfing party in New York before I had even signed up, and was thrilled to find so much activity in a city that can at times seem so not-about-sharing. Recently I met a group of unbelievably welcoming and fun people in Buenos Aires for drinks through couchsurfing and they inspired me to get more involved.
