ABOUT ME

We are a relaxed easy going family. Not a house to stay in if you want peace and quiet in the mornings as we are a family with kids from 6-32 yrs (not all live at home but those that don't visit frequently). Our younger kids are homeschooled with an unschooling philosophy...we believe that the world is their classroom. Many diverse interests. Enjoy family activities with kids but also like to escape without them occassionally to one of the local cafes, a movie, a beer or two at the local brewery...or just hang out at home with conversation and real coffee or a wine or two. Tony understands/speaks German language.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Love to have people to stay and maybe couch surf ourselves. Families and children welcome...happy to include visitors in our daily life and to show people around or if we are busy to point them in the right direction. We are happy with short notice surfers if you get stuck passing through Whangarei:-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have enjoyed hosting our first CS and it was a fun interesting weekend. Many unofficial CS stays with friends or friends of friends over the years.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year travelled overland from Thailand to Cambodia with 6 of our kids (18mths-21 yrs)....has left a lasting impression on our family and a thirst for more 'off the beaten track' travel especially with the kids.
