ABOUT ME

I´m retired.

I'm very blond, I have usually a big smile on my face and I'm 1,77 m. tall. That's more or less the way I look :)

Don't ask me about my plans after travelling, I have many ideas and they change every day or even worse... I really like to walk in the hallways of university it's just that I'm very bad at studying so I´m momentarily retired.

I like to go on my own and find out about all different kind of new things. Pretty independent I guess. Party is my life and I will probably die of laughing and dancing to the top one day :):)

Adventure, the outdoors, underground, something else than usual, that's something that definitely attracts me. My life-long mission is to spread positive vibes all over the planet!

PHILOSOPHY

Don't stress.

All things happen for a reason.

De la nada sale el todo y el todo se hace nada y aspirar a este consejo miles mares de palabras.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While im in my hometown i go to many events and help organizing them, i try to show people around from time to time and participate also by volunteering as a Dutch teacher for the AmsterDutchClasses organized by the CSgroup of Amsterdam.

When i'm out there i usually go to CSmeetings and do touristic stuff with other surfers. From time to time i get bored or scared travelling on my own so i look for travelbuddies in the CSgroups.

Ofcourse i offer free space to stay and help whenever i can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Unfortunately I've not been able to host that much travellers as i wish for, i hope to make that up in the near future!

However, I surfed many couches, mattresses, floors, futons, beds, chairs, benches, I even slept in an abandoned boat once !

I did hiking in the Peruvian Andes with a CS from Lima and hitchhiked for 2 days with a CS from Belgium in Canada.

And meeting couchsurfers in Brussels was the greatest experience ever! I met a host and his couchsurfer on the street, they looked at me with my backpack and said: you must be a CS ! And me and this surfer, she is from Estonia, we ended up spending 4 days together exploring the city.

At a pancake-party i got to know a CS from Mexico and when I went back to Amsterdam we met again, so i showed her around for 3 days, and half a year later i surfed her couch in Mexico :-)

Just lovely experiences.

Interests

Literature, sports; especially aquatic sports, fitness, biking and frisbee.

Surfing is for cities, camping is for nature.
Im fascinated by all the natural treasures in this world. Animal migrations, geisers, vulcanoes, the jungle, flowers, deserts, areas with micro-climates, hidden bays and virgin beaches, weird shaped rocks, green dampy valleys.

I have this wish....to taste the water of all the lakes and seas and oceans in the world.

For some undefinable reason i find students very interesting. As you can read in my piece ' all about me' , i quit university although i really kick on the ambiance. Im curious about life at other universities, what are the politics, the relation between professors and students, how do students treat each other, are there active student associations, is discussion alive, scholarships, housing, accreditation, studentprotests, cultural activities, etc.

Music & food :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly action, thriller/drama, sci-fi, animation, a comedy once in a while.

Forrest Gump, Dancing with Wolves, Pulp Fiction, The Matrix Trilogy, Gladiator, Cast Away, Modigliani, The Godfather, 10 articulos o menos, Kingdom of Heaven, Gran Torino, Mickey Mouse's Fantasy ..etc,

Electronics, rock, reggae, i appreciate the oldies, pop, classical and folk too :-) Recently i discovered goa trance and i love it.
Acda&DeMunnik, Les Cowboys Fringants, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson, Erykah Badu, Morgan Heritage, Carl Cox, DJ Micha, etc,

Not so long ago a friend of mine introduced me to sci-fi books and the best ones i read until now were Vurt by Jeff Noon and The End Of Eternity by Isaac Asimov. But for being a literature freak i do know and like more books ofcourse. I'm especially interested in the post-modern stream and in educational narrative. I wrote my thesis about José Martí.
Ensayo sobre la ceguera, The old man and the sea, Don Quijote de la Mancha, Cien anos de soledad, The tigervineyard, Paravion, Rayuela, Kaplan, Demian, the Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, Eva Luna, On the road, etc,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to the concert of Erykah Badu at Stockholm Jazz Fest with my host. Crossing the Baltic Sea by train. Climbing the Massada in the Israelian desert at 5 am to see the sun come up from the Dead Sea. Seeing the opera of the Magic Flute with music of Mozart in the park with friends beneath the Malaguenan stars, drinking beer and eating peanuts. Living as a nomad for some days in the Moroccan Atlas mountains, watching the sunset from the top of a high rock which i climbed bare-foot. Visiting Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu in the rain, dipping in the icecold Colca river, tripping on the holy cactus San Pedro in the Andes mountains, etc etc etc...
