About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover and create a new world

ABOUT ME

I am a friendly and curious person that likes to meet other people and discuss and experience about anything. I used to do photography as a student, now I have learned to play double bass. Welcoming guests is an honour, being guest with somebody else is a pleasure.

This Summer, I am going to visit the fascinating country called Japan. When I was fine, I played with Japanese kids living temporarily in the Netherlands. Since then, I met both Japanese people and Dutch people that had been regular visitors of Japan. All told me interesting stories. I am looking forward to experience this world myself.

PHILOSOPHY

In a nutshell: be ready and open to engage with other people and everything that you did not expect. Then you may create a better world together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I find it a marvellous idea. I am happy to welcome guests and to share experiences and stories

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Fine! Meeting people in Japan (including a dance & music workshop), welcoming guests in Breda and in Brussels.

And a long time ago, making friends by staying overnight with other people, previously unknown, in Belgium in Rumania and elsewhere. (there was neither internet nor couchsurfing in 1991-1993)

Music, Movies, and Books

Many books, including philosophy of Camus, Levinas, but also Hans Jonas and Hannah Ahrendt. Not to forget all the work of de Saint Exupery, Rushdie's Satanic Verses and books of Heinrich Böll.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While travelling to Rumania, we met some people at a summer festival at the Hungarian side of the border. We were invited, got the address of friends in the next town in Rumania. Then we participated in a summer camp of a political party, through which we were filmed and appeared on television in Hungary

Teach, Learn, Share

in addition to patent skills I recently gave a workshop on Camus
