ABOUT ME

I have graduated from Istanbul Technical University in Mechanical Engineering Bachelorship and I have done my MSc on automotive engineering, now attending for PhD. In my bachelorship my friends and I designed a simple diesel engine which today is perfectly working as a prototype. Now I work as an research and development employee on a firm that manufactures diesel engines and tractors. We are developing a new family of diesel engines hopely to succeed in agricultural and heavy duty applications which uses a an opposite way that today's engines tendencies. I have also worked on ship construction in shipyard more than eight months which passed as more than years relatively for me. The basis of my ship building interest lies upon my excessive experience in Solar Splash International, Intercollegiate Solar/Electric Boat Competition. With my dear friends Ersin Demir and Münir Cansın Özden we have attended the contest two times and won 16 different awards in two years including overall second and overall third place. My professional choice tendency is always to research and development departmants that is leading me to defense industries. I am aware of the consequences of working in defense research and all that but I based my preference on the best facilities for practical physics r.d. which would be defense, aero-space and automotive. And in my country the top demand is unfortunately in defense.

PHILOSOPHY

I am not really a logic based person, and I know that logic fails every once in a while as been proved by Kurt Gödel(incompleteness theorem :P). Therefore I couldn't count on logic, thus all I am left with heuristic thinking and a positivist choice mechanism throughout my life. These were my behavioral approach but my imaginative side always sails to the oceans of fantasies and extremities to break the manmade walls of logic and common sense. To sum up I am trying to lead a normal life while I am struggling with the search of truth in every opportunity I can find.

Interests

My area of interest starts from positive sciences most likely physics, mathematics in every aspect (you can't beleive how many hours I have spent on deriving the founding formulations of special relativity and I am still working on general relativity which requires far more advanced mathematics which is based on differential geometry and uses different calculation method namely as "tensor calculus") and reaches up to foundations of musics, literature, history, sociology etc.
My on going popular research project is about the positive approach to human perception and reality. My research about the evolution of consciousness and the concept of time lead me to some valueable resources which I discover later that were being used as references in cognitive sciences.
Beside all I crave a desire for all natural things like mountains, forests, lakes, oceans etc.. I seize every oportunity for going out in the jungle to walk, climb on hills or some high ground try to swim in the ocean, diving and spearfishing. I used to carve boomerangs from plywood and throw them in the open spaces with my friends. In my agenda caving and climbing lie as the next two thing for practicing in the next 2 years. Indoor activities not for me I think :D.

My favorite book is "Puslu Kıtalar Atlası" by İhsan Oktay Anar (he is a great writer btw)
