My current mission is like many others but best described by the balls himself "Patrick Stewart" -> To seek out strange life and new civilizations (Couches), to bold go where no/some men(women) have gone before!!

ABOUT ME

I'm just another averagely educated academic looking for adventure and student loan fodder in Asia. I've travelled throughout North America and got tired of understanding the language spoken around me, so Seoul seemed like a logical choice.
I like stomping around to the Sex pistols, or practicing some fast jazz fills with Dave Burbeck. I've always loved music, and can play a variety of instruments, unfortunately none of which i can fit into a bagpack.
I'm always up for a chat though, so just ask and you will receive.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to finally become this global citizen spoken of in shouts. So few people can honestly admit to true participation. Evidently the only logical stop is to meet some kids from around the world, and why not give them a floor to crawl back to, or show them around a city I have become intoxicated with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only limited experiences. Those being friends I knew who were generous enough to let me stay on their couch for a night, or even the best ones who let me stay for 3 months (with rent of course), which was an experience I will always remember with agony.

Interests

From skating to playing drums and guitar. I've enjoyed pulling myself up cliffs with only a small line keeping me alive, or chilling in a sauna with a group of 45 year old korean women. I also love to learn local cooking. I've been getting pretty good with a variety of Korean dishes, and have discovered a new love for the condiment/food group called Kimchi.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my proudest moments was playing a drum, in full scottish gear, with a pair of surgical tampons stuck in my nose. (Lesson learned: Mountain air at a mile and half above sea level is killer on the nose. Also travel insurance is a must, because paying for a $350 nose bleed will make anyone cry)
