About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live Love Laugh Learn

ABOUT ME

I’m onto my 5th career, working as a gardener. Every job I have had is about making people’s lives better. I’ve worked in hospitality, parks and rec, personal training, recovery programs, and now I keep parks and wedding venues beautiful by caring for the gardens.

About me:
I love the outdoors, getting dirty and being rugged, hiking, cycling, rock climbing, kayaking, etc. but I also love DANCE, and really like getting all dressed up and going out to fancy places. I am a painter, and art appreciator, yet I love science and many of my favorite movies (much to my partial embarrassment) are Sci Fi. I am equally happy in a big city, or a small town on a farm.

PHILOSOPHY

Be passionate! Whatever it is that you decide you stand for, stand for it with the utmost passion and finesse! But always with the room to grow and learn from others. Let us all have our place in this world and honour eachother for our talents!

Interests

I consider myself a Jackie of of all trades, master of none. I love trying new things, and am a bit of a jock. Some things stick around longer than others. Here's the list in order according to most frequent and longest lived-

-running (marathons, but shorter races more recently)
-Argentine tango (1.7 years straight of 1-4 days a week)
-skiing (was an instructor in Uni)
-dancing (modern,ballet,jazz,swing,hip hop,salsa,booty-shaking...)
-rock climbing (up to 5.11b one summer!)
-Mountain Biking/Riding my bike
-hiking/snowshoeing
-Kung Fu (just started but LOVE the intensity)
-horseback riding (worked on a dude ranch for a summer)

My Creative side list:
-painting (acrylic and just started oil)
-writing poetry or songs
-photography, both taking photos and being a model
-trying to pick up my guitar more often, I'm just learning
-healing and massage, Reiki 2 certified

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I am always reading something. Currently reading The Birth of Venus.

Movies: Amelie, Kill Bill, Donnie Darko, Fifth Element, Men In Black, Signs, Wayne's World, Butterfly Effect, Save the Last Dance, Center Stage, The Beach, Before Sunrise, any movie that makes you think for the next week about it....Usually like more Independent films and foreign films when I'm not too tired to read subtitles.

Music: I really love music of all categories, seriously. I would rather die than have a life with no music.

Food: I can't think of many things better to spend my day doing than eating really good food and wine, or really good beer. Sometimes I think about becoming a chef or Saucier just so I can keep up with my need for fine cuisine. That said, I am addicted to rice and beans and cheese!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I cycled cross country for 6 months in the southeastern part of the USA.
The Inca Trail. Milford Track in Fiordland,NZ. Diving Poor Knights, NZ. Snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef.
The most amazing of all, are the wonderful people I have met in my travels.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Argentine Tango. I know a lot about fitness, eating tasty and healthy food, and traveling and staying fit and healthy. I want to learn everything, especially new sports, culture, and where to have my next adventure. Mostly I just love a real connection with another genuine human being.
