About Me

CURRENT MISSION

In the words of Howard Thurman, to come alive.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Chema, I love being outdoors. I'm a deep thinker. I like well made things that last. I'm kind of a sustainability nerd. I really want to make as great of a positive influence on the world as I can. I enjoy long conversations exploring big ideas pertaining to pretty much anything! I like to challenge my perceptions and beliefs. I am half Argentine.

I'm travelling around the world with my soulmate making friends, learning, and playing!

PHILOSOPHY

Own it.
Be a pro.

To "own it" means to own your achievements as well as your mistakes, to take responsibility for that which you are responsible for, to be honest with yourself, to love yourself for your individuality, and be grateful.

To "be a pro" means to be respectful, treat everyone as people and no one as objects, love people for their individuality, acknowledge the achievements of others, be honest with others, be humble, stay positive and do your best.

Be kind, be kind, be kind.
-Albert Einstein (his last words)

I think everybody should love everybody.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Born to Run, All of Daniel Quinn's literature, The Anatomy of Peace, Cradle to Cradle, The Field. I guess I mostly read non-fiction.

Music: I really love music of all types. Some of my favorite genres right now include: Rock Blues, Indie Folk, Electro House, Conscious Hip Hop, Alterni-Pop, Bluegrass, and anything that grooves, jives, or bumps! Bands anywhere from Beirut to The White Stripes, Gang Starr to Radiohead, Bach to The Mars Volta, Hillfolk Noir to Ghostland Observatory, Kimbra to Skrillex, and CHROMEO!

I like movies, that make you think, that make you feel, and that have something important to say... I just saw Kumaré and I LOVE IT!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunset, full moon, sunrise, and a solid white wall of fog roll in, all in one stay at the top of Yosemite Valley: Clouds Rest.

Running Dagger Falls on the middle fork of the Salmon river in Idaho, in 8 inches of snow and a 17 foot raft! ...Not to mention the rest of the trip!

Being 1600 feet off the deck on Infinite Bliss in Washington.

Teach, Learn, Share

“You must become the change you wish to see in the world.”
-Mahatma Gandhi

I'd also like to add that you must become the change you wish to see in yourself.

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go and do that, because what the world needs is people that have come alive."
- Howard Thurman

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.”
- Dr. Seuss
