Overview
About Me
My favorite way to spend an evening is to cook a big meal for friends with friends (old & new), listening to good music. A nice bottle of red wine is nice but not essential. Then after head out to a small bar with a live DJ.
I've worked in the private sector (wine) 'social enterprise' (arts club) and public sector (environment, foreign office).
Personal philosophy? I have no idea. I do know that I have a problem with the term working poor - in terms of the implications. It shouldn't be the case that it is possible to employ people and not to pay them enough to have a decent standard of life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It seem to me that there is a certain type of person that uses couchsurfing, people who presume people are essentially good and that meeting people from different backgrounds and with different outlooks is valuable at many levels. CS basically lets me meet amazing people at the beginning of a trip to a new country rather than on the last day when you don't have time to get to know them.
So far I've stayed with Amr in Cairo and couldn't have asked for a better introduction. Superb. Loved every moment. I've also stayed with Evershed in Accra - again great experience.
Interests
Music. Cooking. Wine. Contemporary dance.
I would say travelling, but I think I just like meeting people.
Used to do sport 24/7 'til i got injured, but I still love it and do what I can: volleyball, ultimate, table tennis, swimming and diving.
Enjoy photography and sculpture. A favourite photographer of mine (and friend), Robert Taylor, brings the two together which makes me very happy :o)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Not amazing, just very special: I swam off Havana's sea wall (the Malacon) at midnight in the moonlight with my friend Natasha. We almost didn't do it, but I'm so glad we did and I will never forget it :o)
