About Me

I am a peaceful, positive and open minded person who is always willing to learn and try new things.

Travelling has always been a large part of my life, spending years in both South America and Europe.

Do to others as you would want done to you, we are all one, doing wrong to others is doing wrong to yourself.
Treat everyone equally no matter where they are from, what they have done or what form they take.
If you want to know something, or know about a people, one must go out and experience it and live it.

Family is one of the most important things in life. Living in the present and being conscious that we are consciousness is crucial to getting the most out of this life.

I have been a high school teacher for the last few years in Far North Queensland, Australia and it has been amazing to spend time with the new generations of our world in one of the most majestic places in the world.

We are now off again to travel the world again and see how others experience this magical thing we call life. We are travelling through Europe, North Africa, Middle East, North America and Central America. We will be travelling for a few years to taste what this world has to offer.
My life partner is Olivia Brewster and she is my friend on CS. Wherever I go she will be with me, so if you are hosting me you will also host her.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a wonderful platform for enabling us as inhabitants of this world to connect with each other. Entering into the homes and lives of couchsurfers provides one with a deep and rich travelling experience.
I have surfed and hosted and love the feeling of them both. Having different cultures and people coming into my home, is like travelling the world from the living room. For the next few years I will be surfing as the love of my life and I are travelling around the world sharing experiences with others and learning about our universe and those that inhabit it.

Couchsurfing is ultimately about sharing with others the moments that make up what we call life.

Interests

Travelling (geographically, mentally, spiritually and dimensionally), being at one with nature, experiencing life through different perspectives, chilling and having good conversations with good mates and strangers alike, being fully immersed into a culture which is nothing like your own, meeting new people.

Looking up into the stars and wondering wow, I am so happy to be part of this, we are just on this rock spinning around and I'm living the dream!

We (Olivia and I) love to spend time in nature camping and hiking connecting with our mother earth.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music -
I enjoy listening to a range of music and it really depends on the context of where and when you are which impacts on what to listen to. If the artist is trying to teach you something about life and the world, or spreading love and the truth then that is something worth listening to.

Some of my favourite artists are: Michael Franti, Xavier Rudd, The Doors, The Beatles, Fat Freddy's Drop, 1814, Bob Marley and Thievery Corporation, Mooji.

Others include: Gotye, Immortal Technique, Angus and Julia Stone, Horrorshow, Dubmarine, Hermitude, Sticky fingers, BLISS N ESO, Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars, Lupe Fiasco, Tupac Shakur, Michael Nyman, The xx, Foals, The Album Leaf, Zero 7, Fever Ray, The Jezabels, Delphic, Thundamentals, Beach House, PK Crew, The Beatles, Lykke Li, Benga, Skream, Röyksopp, Caribou, Mt Eden, Chromeo, Björk, The Knife, War Paint, Tame Impala, The Temper Trap, LCD Soundsystem, Crystal Castles, Hot Chip, Passion Pit, The Black Kids, The Presets, The Panics, Neophyte, Delorean, M83, Groove Amarda, Sigur Rós, Two Door Cinema Club, Tricky, Yeasayer, Matisyahu, Cosmic Gate, DJ Markey.

Books which can teach you something about the world and you can't put down even when your falling asleep onto the pages.
1984 - George Orwell, Orientalism - Edward Said, Satyagraha - Ghandi, Noam Chomsky, The Holographic Universe, The Celestine Prophecy, The Omnivore's Dilemma and In Defense of Food - Micheal Pollan.

Movies usually docos- Manufacturing Consent, The Corporation, Sicko, Plastic Paradise, The World According to Monsanto, Manufactured Landscapes, Pulp fiction, Jackie Brown, Cloud Atlas, Trainspotting, Human Traffic, Ray, City of God, Transcendence, anything presented by Sir David Attenborough.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending three years volunteering, studying, hitch hiking and camping in South America was a life changer.

It really broadened my understanding of the human experience.
From cruising up the Amazon River to hiking in the south of Chile seeing glaciers, especially the Perrito Moreno glacier in South of Argentina, have learned a great deal from the nature.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have learnt that in order to understand what is going on in our our world, one must step back and be critical of everything that you yourself understand to be true, and only by critically analysing how you came to have an opinion and a feeling about something, will you be able to understand the world on a broader level. I have also learnt that the only way to do this is to have an open heart, be open to ideas, and ways of being even if they seem to disagree with you on the most basic level. Spread love.\

Our earth provides an abundance of healthy food and clean water, we just need to allow the nature to function as it needs to.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook delicious and nutritious food, specialising in vegetarian goodness. Always happy for questioning the world and talking about the major changes taking place in our world.
Can teach English and Spanish.
