ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Ottawa. Trying to explore the world and its people simultaneously. I can be very quiet, introverted and peaceful at home or out and about loud, extroverted and rambunctious when out with the right energy-loving people.

PHILOSOPHY

I used to always say "Life is short!" I realize now how much better it is to focus on the positive; instead of saying "Life is short", it is better to say "Life is Awesome!"

I love to care for people and to make people feel warm and fuzzy. I love to love, and I think life is magic!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined at the end of July 2009. I have been hosting and surfing ever since, though took breaks such as my most recent hiatus for 5 years. Love meeting all the new people, and the old ones, have even had the pleasure of being hosted by someone after hosting them on a couple of occasions, those times were uber-cool!(Looking forward to doing more of that too in future travels!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have met some really neat surfers by chance, through work, CS events and surfing/hosting, I can't wait for even more great times with all you great surfers!

I have been hosted in Montreal, Paris, Toronto, Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Barcelona, London and Cologne and hosted people whenever I can, mostly Ottawa, and a little bit in Paris...

Interests

Favourite movies that I could watch over and over again: The Princess Bride (#1), Kill Bill I + II, Amélie, Last Holiday, Blast From the Past, Love Actually, Cocktail, Yes Man. There are more but far too many to list...

Very eclectic when it comes to music, but I love all the girly pop icons- Madonna, Janet, Whitney, Rihanna and some of the oldies too- Etta James, Nina Simone, really into 2000s dance/pop lately like The Black Eyed Peas, Britney... So many awesome musicians, let's just say I love anything that makes me feel relaxed, happy, or inspires me to dance!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Still thinking about this one, life is amazing in general so it is really hard:
-Sunset at the summit of Mt.Fuji, who knew I'd make it to the top alive!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach/learn or share all of the following:

Cooking- Specialties are Healthy Eating, Budget-minded Eating, Lebanese/Arabic food, and I am looking forward to learning more and more- I am also a great sous-chef and can be put to work doing menial tasks while you prepare your masterpieces! Pasta Bolognese is one of my favourite foods, still trying to perfect my recipe... Will share what I have learned thus far...

Cleaning and organizing-I take great pride in this and always leave places nicer than I find them!

Languages: I speak English, American Sign Language, a little French and an an even smaller bit of Spanish.

Will add more as I think of it, above all life is too awesome not to share all the good things- I share everything I can!
