ABOUT ME

I'm one of those dangerously nice people, the kind that makes my loved ones mad....it's a job hazard. I'm a born social worker. If I had my druthers I would spend my life in impoverished neighborhoods doling out any assistance necessary....world travel has allowed for me to be dangerously nice without borders.

PHILOSOPHY

It changes....some components always remain, but my general personal philosophy is an everchanging process...like me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Unfortunately I haven't had the honor as of yet...an openended trip to South America is on the near horizon for me..tentatively January 2010.

兴趣

I'm a religious yogi aiming for 4 practices a week... I'm also a dedicated runner with a half a dozen races under my belt...nutrition and vegetarianism are paramount in my life. I'm a brand new master's level social worker having finished a graduate program in May of 2009. I'm searching for my niche..but working with at-risk youth and families in the meantime...
Animals are a huge part of my life and the initial reason for the sacrifice of my previously carnivorous diet. My reasons have since become equally based in a conscious effort to avoid the harmful qualities of mass produced meat/poultry/seafood.

I have had the good fortune of participating in a service trip to Ghana, West Africa where myself and several other social workers were immersed in the impoverished community of the CMB, an abandoned coco manufacturing district which now served as the center of a homeless population. The exposure/experience of that trip can not be justified in words...it one that redefined my entire being. I was also lucky enough to travel to Germany, Austria, Amsterdam, Scotland, and Mexico. After finishing my undergraduate work I participated in a eco yoga retreat in Mexico. Practice three times daily....all organic cuisine....guided imagery and meditation. A spiritual buffet. It is difficult to summarize one's category of "amazing things/done seen". Some of my most amazing....have occured of course, when least expected.
