i just now finished a 14 month internship at Turtle Island Preserve. it was an intense experience where i learned how to cook pretty good, among many other things. but now i'm free to explore more of the world and i'm pretty excited.

i love photography. especially while traveling.

i've been a surfer myself a few times, and hosted people a few times. it's all been great.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

couchsurfing is my favorite way to explore a city i've never been to. and i love discovering my hometown through the eyes of everyone who visits.

Music, Movies, and Books

i love getting books from friends and family. and i love browsing people's bookshelves. there's almost always something interesting on them. i've recently been a regular patron of the public library and i love it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hitchhiking by myself through ireland on the suggestion of the host i was couchsurfing with. it was such an amazing, liberating experience and i met some very helpful and friendly people. i was only nervous the first 10 minutes of the first ride (which is healthy, i think), but by the end of the day i had a new appreciation for strangers and their willingness to help out other strangers.

Teach, Learn, Share

gardening and cooking are things that i'm pretty good at, but i'm always looking to learn more about. so depending on your skill level in either arena, i bet we have something to teach each other.

i can teach you some dutch, even though it won't be useful in many places of the world.

i can show you pictures that i take.

i know a good deal about caring for farm animals and would love to convince you to get some chickens.
