About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Building my own army out of little army men!
ABOUT ME
Howdy, my name is Jose and I currently live in Austin, Texas. I am an artist and adventurist at heart. I love photography, art, film, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I run a photo and video prouction company called Magic Spoon Productions in addition to working for the American Cancer Society. Check out my website here: http://www.magicspoonproductions.com
Life is too short to not love, so I spread it all over as much as I can. I am currently looking into a couple of grad schools for next fall and plan to visit some schools this fall so that is why I signed up with CS! Why stay in a boring hotel when you can stay with and meet new and interesting people in a city I just might be relocating to?
PHILOSOPHY
I am a co-op man at heart. I lived in a student co-op for five years in Austin, TX with over 100 residents, spending my last year there as the house director, so I know how to live, work and play well with others. I live my life by "The Golden Rule" and always put my fair share into any situation. I believe character and respect are what get you through life, so if you show it, you'll acquire it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I lived in a student co-op for over 5 years in Austin, TX (21st Street co-op) and our house was an active member in the CS community. We hosted people and hostelers from all around the world and showed them a great time both within our co-op and in our city. It's a great way to meet new people and a great way to network with others around the world so I've been a big fan of the CS community and experience! Now I reside in an old 3-story Victorian-style home with 7 others so we're rooted in cooperative principles and have guests stay with us from time to time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
During the summer of 2008, I cycled across the country with an organization called Texas 4000 for Cancer, raising over $5,000 and cycling over 4,500 miles from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska with 42 team mates!
