About Me
ABOUT US!
Hey! We are Alexandra and Luis.
We have an inflatable boat that we like to take out on the river on a sunny day.
We enjoy spending time in Luis' town in the mountainous part of Albacete, taking visitors kayaking down the rapids of the "segura" river and then to a wonderful bar that serves wild mushroom rice!!
We have been absent from the couchsurfing scene for a while, mainly because we have been moving around for the last year. Now, we are back with a joint account (double the hospitality, smiles and good vibes!!) We won't be hosting until October because we are travelling to the Philippines in July where we hope to get involved in the CS community there.
PHILOSOPHY
I was really fascinated with the film 'into the Wild' based on a guy named Chris McCandless who leaves society and connects with nature. Although his case was extreme, I think it is important to disconnect with the false comforts that society offers and to leave what you understand for a while in order to return with a broader perspective and self- understanding. I read Henry David Thoreou's Walden and found it a strange but fascinating and insightful read. McCandless based his journey on the ideals of 'Walden'.
He once said that "it is important in life not necessarily to be strong, but to feel strong."
