About Me

CURRENT MISSION

:-)

ABOUT ME

Coming from a mixed Asian and Western background, I have learned to appreciate different cultures and lifestyles.

More about me, Im a sincere person who would like to share stories with others, listen and learn from others. I love to meet new friends for a coffee/drink for a start, share meals together, have a nice conversation, learning new languages and cultures...

Why couchsurfing? This is a fantastic project. You learn so much from others. We are a great family/community :-) Life will never be the same without meeting new people here!

Before joining CS, one of my best exerience was learning Spanish in Barcelona and my host family is one of the best in the world. They love to meet new people and have 2 out of 3 rooms for hosting students of different nationalities. Their lifestyle is sharing with others - they had this plan when they bought the apartment! I think this is a great idea but i haven't got 2 spare rooms at the moment :-(

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have always been a person who loves to share information, stories and tips to friends and strangers. I am passionate to help others and I had been working in guest relations in the hospitality/tourism industry for years.

My friend George and I have hosted some wonderful people :-) We have met some travellers and showed them around our city. We have held CS events at home including Cooking and Yoga!

I love to host and be hosted. I have visited some wonderful places with CSers. Life is never boring :-) I have met new friends and old colleagues here. 1 of them happen to be my neighbour who i have never met before.

When it comes to hosting complete strangers before joining CS, I did it once when a Brazilian girl asked me for direction while I was waiting for a bus. I was the only one who understood her on her first day in Ireland (I understand some Portuguese and she understands Spanish). I met her again on the same bus that evening by chance and showed her how to go back to her host family. We became friends and she came to visit me with her new friends. She and a friend moved in with us and became our new housemates 2 weeks later and we really enjoy the Brazilian dinners and parties with her friends. Unfortunately, they are back to Brazil now :-(

I used to have my own place in Brussels - a double sofa bed from Ikea, blankets and pillows etc for my guests in the living room...I hardly have time to sit on them but they are good investment for my guests :-) Unfortunately, there is no space for a sofa bed in my current home and we can't host you till we found a bigger place.

Interests

I love travelling, learning new things...new cultures, new people, new languages, lifestyle, food etc.
I love reading, music (anything from pop, latin, jazz to classical), cooking, volunteering, going out with friends, movies, yoga, tennis, badminton...

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe CS is not about looking for free accomodation. It's about sharing, be it a bed, food, drinks, information, experience, stories or support to other travellers.
There are many secret angels here who would save you in the last minute (if you beleive it) :-)!
