About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet new people, find the perfect cup of coffee, and to travel.

ABOUT ME

I love people. I love to learn new languages and am currently at an intermediate level of Spanish, mostly studying on my own and having lots of Spanish friends to practice with. I also love to teach people English well, mostly over a cup of coffee in a cafe. It is the best way to learn the language. I am also doing freelance translating as a volunteer and hope to one day get paid for it, so I can teach English to my friends for free. Currently I am enrolled in an online Intro. to Translating course from Barcelona, Spain.

PHILOSOPHY

To love others and they will respond back in love, hopefully making the world a better place.

Interests

Learning to dance with my Spanish friends. They are the only ones who have the patience to teach me how to dance (I have no rhythm). I also love to read almost anything interesting about people and the world. I love to read history of Spain and Latin America.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love old romantic Spanish music from Spain. My favorite musician from Spain is Jose Luis Perales. He makes me cry when I listen to his voice. Also, Carlos Vives from Colombia is pretty good too. And I get lost in the voice and music of Cristian Castro. Love Antonio Banderas in Zorro...mmmm...nice.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have seen is watching the people in South America continue to fight for their freedom. Even with war and poverty in their past, they are very proud of their heritage. They are the most loving and giving people I have met. We stayed in their homes, they showed us their city and they were very hospitable. The saying "Mi Casa es su Casa" is very true.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach people a love of learning new things. Learn to gain and share new ideas. Share my time with others as they do with me...getting to know them and learning to understand and appreciate their culture.
