About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seeking the bridge of ideology and human nature.

ABOUT ME

I am currently taking a break from my institutionalized education as I took some time to travel the states. I have found the quality of education that I have gotten since has swayed my desire for a quick return to the university. Right now my interests have been taken up with gardening, mosaics, bike rides, and small trips around Nevada and California. I am planning to do an internship in Cali come Fall, but I figured that with Burning Man approaching there might be a need for a couch before I head out.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is one of constant change, I embrace every moment that changes or widens my perceptions of this world. Camus spoke of the issue that ideology always goes against human nature, we see this in the histories of our world time and time again. I dream of the unity of ideology and human nature... I am searching for a way of life that does not contradict my way of being. I am an anarchist in the sense that I negate, in any way consciously possible, the master/slave mentalities that have governed our world. I am a democrat in the sense that I believe people should engage in conversation or council to come to decisions that affect the community. I am a socialist in that I believe every person plays equal importance in a community and thus deserves equal treatment and opportunity in all ways. I am not solid in my ways, I am young and naive. I live simply, lovingly, and passionately. There is nothing that I have learned in my life that is unimportant, there is no such thing as empty experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have enjoyed hosting a small handful of surfers from a variety of places, mostly during the days preceding burning man. I hope to now reverse the roles and head out on the road to meet some interesting people in some interesting places.

Interests

I am interested in just about anything and everything. I am constantly taking on new projects and studies. Right now I am focusing on community living, organic farming, and off the grid energy concepts. My garden was a huge failure in production this year, but I have learned a great deal from it. I try to keep up with the goings on of Babylon, which can range on any given day from unconcerned to obsessed, so I am usually in for a good political debate.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to take in a wide variety of reading material, but just as most I have a few authors I strongly favor. Such as Camus, Irvine Welsh, Huxley, Palahniuk, Philip K. Dick, Garcia Marquez, and Kafka. Lately I have been delving into a bit of Derrick Jensen. I listen to a lot of music and am constantly finding so much that I have never heard of. There is very little music that I do not like and pretty much appreciate anyone getting out there and creating and sharing music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I feel soo many things that I have done or seen in my life have been amazing, but I am going to give a local experience for this one. Hiking to the top of Mt. Rose to watch the sunset beyond Tahoe and descending down the mountain lit only by the full moon and guided (sometimes misguided) by my dogs. Truly breathtaking.
