About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"We are an intentional community committed to art, ecology, community, and activism."
ABOUT ME
With four close friends, I recently began an intentional community founded on the goal that members will support each other in realizing their dreams, focusing on the core values of art, ecology, and community outreach. Lately, I've been active in building and running a community theater, hosting community gardens, and renovating my beautiful, if quirky, 100-year-old house.
I'm a Master's level play therapist who contracts for the state working mostly with children and families in foster and adoptive care. I also teach college undergraduate psychology classes.
As my house becomes a center for activity and resources in my town, I find I am energized by all the traffic and inspiration that comes through my door.
I just returned from Tibet, where I was volunteering in a rural town working with Middle Schoolers and living with a host family. Before that, I adapted one of my favorite novels to stage, and directed and starred in the play. My upcoming adventures include attending the Communities Conference at Twin Oaks in Virginia this August, and performing in Shakespeare’s “A Winter’s Tale” in October.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We have been participating in couchsurfing.org for years under the account http://www.couchsurfing.org/profile.html?id=20O8YJF. Now that I am traveling more, having my own personal account makes sense.
Interests
I have pretty broad interests. I love to be active outdoors: hiking, swimming, walking, gardening, practicing yoga. I also have an eclectic intellectual thirst to always be learning new things and developing new skills, so I read a lot. I love to dance. I love crafts and working with my hands. I am passionate about social justice.
