About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to have fun in the sun

ABOUT ME

I am currently employed studying to take my registration exam to become a Registered Dietitian (Nutritionist) and will start Graduate School at the Ohio State University in the Fall. I am the team leader of a women's cycling (bike racing) team called Lady Gnar Shredders. I enjoy all types of biking (cyclocross, road, mountain). biking, hiking, swimming, playing sports, Cooking, baking, DANCING and adventuring are some of my favorite activities. I frequent walks, dinner parties, bike rides, coffee shops and hang chill time.

PHILOSOPHY

I aspire to be both mindful and spontaneous. I want to be comfortable in every experience, and make the best of every situation. There is fun, silliness and value in all experiences, one just needs to find it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My first experience couch surfing was in Canada and I loved it. All three hosts were wonderful, and I now want to build and develop the couch surfing community in Columbus to give others the experiences I had.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Travelling to Canada was my first couchsurfing experience, where I literally tried to surf (on the hard wood floor) on the couch. Although this was fun, I needed to use my imagination quite a bit. I stayed in three different houses in the span of 2 weeks in 2 cities. My friend Sarah and I had a wonderful time, and met up with couch surfers that we weren't staying with as well to meet more Canadians.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Power Shift 2009 was a national youth conference on climate change. There were 12,000 young people from across the country attending workshops, listening to world-renound speakers, participating in the largest lobbying day in US history, and attending an action that succesfully shut down the coal plant that powers the Capital building in Washington DC. It was beyond amazing to see thousands of people taking over the streets of DC to address climate change. I have never been more empowered and seen so many passionate people in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have many skills in vegetarian and vegan cooking and baking. I've made some mad cookies in my day. I conduct workshops on leadership development, facilitation, group building and other helpful organizational needs. I am an experienced bike rider from touring to racing to commuting.

The healing arts are a great interest to me, and I hope to gain knowledge in eastern medicine such as herbalism, yoga, mind-body connection and others.
