About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to be able to say in 20 years time "been there done that seen that tasted that and photographed that" and to live by the saying "time waits for no man"

ABOUT ME

I'm 43 years old, married to a lady that at least things similar to me. We have no children but make up for this with plenty of travel. I'm a happy go lucky fellow (most of the time haha) I have a very friendly nature and consider myself to have one of the biggest traits needed today "RESPECT" I'm a very adventurous guy who would rather be outdoors doing fun things not sitting watching TV (I'll leave that for the couch potatoes) Both myself and my wife like tidiness and a little order but are by no means clean freaks. I don't smoke or drink but like a drop of port every now and again. A beer is right out of the question for me, I just don't like the stuff. Hey don't get me wrong I am no goody goody two shoes but I still swear and fart like any normal guy haha.

PHILOSOPHY

"life's too short to waste it sleeping" I tend to kind of live my life with this one, I know it's strange but they say a person spends a third of their life working, a third at play and a third at sleeping. That's roughly 25 years sleeping. "please" that's way too much for me, I don't know about you lot but I want more play and less sleep. The other one I live by is "live life to the full" you never know, you might get hit by a bus tomorrow and be dead so live everyday as if it is your last. I seem to quote a lot if you haven't noticed haha, that's me I suppose. I will finish off this passage with one more quote that I swear by and is close to me.
"HAVE PASSPORT, WILL TRAVEL"

This is a quote that all couchsurfers should go by.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is a hard one to answer at the moment as I have only just joined but I'll see what happens. If it has any thing to do with travel, I"ll help.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have just joined so I am new to this at present. My wife and I have some traveling into Asia coming up soon so hopefully we will find out soon. I have some very comfy beds at my place so hopefully some people can stay and tell me well they slept and tell everyone how great south east Queensland is.

Interests

Well if you haven't kind of found out by now you will when you meet me. Photography and travel rule my world. Taking photos and meeting people is the best interest of all. Second to these on my list is the great outdoors, camping, 4 wheel driving (plenty of that in Queensland, have you been 4 wheel driving up the beach?) eating good food tops the list (the only problem with this one is packing on the weight) Music is a must in my life, it soothes the soul and lifts the spirit(I would be lost without my Ipod) Adventure sports, the thing that drives me (sorry football or cricket not for me ) give me scuba diving, hot air ballooning, mountain climbing just to name a few. Haven't got to the jumping out of a plane yet but it's coming someday.

Music, Movies, and Books

Basically I am movie mad, like most guys I love the action movies, adventure and most favorite any science fiction movies. Tops on my list is "Hitch hikers guide to the galaxy" if only I could stick my thumb out and catch a ride around the galaxy (I wish) My wife on the other hand loves the romance movies, some are all right but I do have trouble with a lot of them. Music is the best thing life has to offer, I do like a lot of different music but chill out/lounge and dance music is mostly that plays in my CD player. I have just discovered Itunes radio on my Mac computer, my goodness it is fantastic, all that different music on tap. I don't get time to read much books but do read quite a few photography mags and I am a bit of a comic book collector. I think I have about 5000 comics now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen my own country before everybody else's. One of the best things was to climb Uluru (Ayres rock) please anybody if you get the chance, just do it. You just can't comprehend how big it is. Traveled all over New Zealand has been the best (it's god's country) Went to Lapland (Sweden) to look at the Icehotel and photographed the northern lights and did a camping safari in South Africa (to hear the lions roaring at night is a must) sorry there is just too many amazing things to name one.

Teach, Learn, Share

Treat everyone as you would want to be treated yourself. "RESPECT" is the key to everyone enjoying their couchsurfing experience. Don't take people for granted and share your knowledge.
