CURRENT MISSION

My wife and I are raising a beautiful little girl. My wife's a teacher and I am a returning student getting my degree in social work. My goal is to get certified as a counselor. I love to helping people and this is how I can do it for work.

ABOUT ME

I love life! I am 39 years old and am very active. I love to be outside in Nature and do it as often as possible. I'm a bit like the Energizer Bunny at times and love to party. My girlfriend and I are equally at home dancing in the street till way too late as well as hanging out at a Zen retreat or sitting Vipassana in the woods. I have a strong work ethic and take my jobs seriously while bringing joy to everything I do and everyone I meet. My smile comes from deep down inside!

PHILOSOPHY

I figure since we all live here together we might as well act accordingly. I want to see the world to better form my view. With my knowledge I hope to bridge some of the gaps that exist here on the planet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have one story of a friend in my Aikido class who recommended me to the site. He said it was THE WAY to experience other countries and spin the karmic loop. I am a believer! I have met friends for life and seen things that I know I would not have if not for Couchsurfing. The people behind the website deserve a big hug!

Music: I love Electronic music. It's somewhat of a spiritual path for me. I also DJ.
Movies: I love documentaries, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, tearjerkers. I like all kinds.

Books are my escape thought it's been hard to read for pleasure due to the demands of school. I'm hoping to crack a book about James Baldwin sometime soon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw Stonehenge many years ago. That was an eye opener to say the least. I also lived in a remote part of Hawaii for 7 months. (Hana) Some weeks I would see perhaps 1 or 2 people per day! I have been in various music videos and got to be an extra in the second Matrix movie. That was amazing. I have performed with a fire dancing troupe at the main Burning Man event for 40,000+ people. What an honor. Wow, I guess I've done a lot!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a student of various arts; Stilting, DJ'ing, Martial arts(Ju Jitsu, Aikido, Capoeira) Fire Spinning, Dancing, and Rapping. I have managed stages up and down the California Coast and work for the International Union of Stage Hands Local 611. As a sound engineer as well as performer I am comfortable both on stage and behind the scenes. I have been a consultant to bands as well as venues and have mentored young men through an after school program in Santa Cruz, CA. I love having students and I love being one.

I have also volunteered in Prisons and with at risk populations. Likewise, I have worked with the Mankind project in a few capacities.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My perspective and hopefully some good conversation. I love hearing about what a person thinks about the place they live in relation to the rest of the world. I also love sharing who I am and where I come from. It's so important to me to build bridges amongst people.

We can't do this alone! I know I sure can't.
