About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm 32. This might not be an option when i'm 35 or 40. Trying to squeeze in as much travelling, wave riding, skating, food, and laughs in the meantime.

ABOUT ME

Briefly: Born in North Palm Beach, FL to a Spanish father (Madrid) and an upstate New York mother. (They met while my mom studied abroad in Madrid...) I've one older brother that paved the way for me and got me into bodyboarding, skateboarding, tennis, good music, comic delivery, and general life lessons; whether he was the positive or failed example.

After going to college at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, I began working as a transportation and traffic engineer. Due to the economy, they had to let me go in May of 2008. I'd always wanted to move to spain for an extended period of time, so this layoff was just splendid to me. I then took a job with a summer adventure camp company called Moondance Adventures (Costa Rica last summer, Ecuador this year). I then moved to Spain to know my family better and learn the language that my parents never taught me. Both were accomplished in my 6 months there, and in the future i plan to continue. I left to do this Moondance Adventures again, and having finished recently, i find myself back home, itching to get back on the road.

PHILOSOPHY

Be happy and help others do the same. Hopefully that's enough.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have heard of great experiences from some friends in West Palm Beach, FL, both of surfing in Ireland and hosting down here in Florida, so i'm signing up. As i don't have a permanent residence right now (time spent at home is at my mother's house where i grew up). But when i move back to Spain in September or so, I absolutely look forward to hosting folks at my pad. In the meantime I'll just be the most respectful and kind and appreciative surfer that I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

only three so far. great experience in bilbao, Brussels, and Stockholm.

Interests

Music (hip-hop, indie, electronic pop (chill-wave, dance), metal, flamenco, reggaeton, afro-cuban, etc...), bodyboarding, tennis, skateboarding, laughing, food, dancing like a (pro) fool, family, film photography, meeting new people, partying.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Band: Aloha - http://www.myspace.com/aloha - (get album "Here Comes Everyone")

Am entertained by most movies, but really enjoy the ones that make you appreciate what you have, and those that make you want to get up and go do something.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently: outright hauling ass on horseback through the paramo of Ecuador, then playing with a pair of sea lions a few days later in the Galapagos.
