I’m a former opera singer, about to go back to University and study Physiotherapy. I live on a narrow boat with my girlfriend in London. I was one of the first few thousand couch surfers back in the day in 2005. I used the site in Kenya when there was 1 couch surfer in the country. I loved the site and the community, and used it for years all around the world. But I felt that it had lost its way a bit by 2010 so stopped hosting and staying with people. But…I’m back on the horse!

It’s been nice to go through my profile from 12 years ago and see what sort of person I was back then (annoyingly manic it seems!)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

When I was younger I used couchsurfing in kenya, croatia, serbia, slovenia, spain, Georgia, Argentina and Chile. I hosted a fair few people at home too. I couldn't have had a lot of great experiences without it. The space I live in now is just too small to host sadly. As much as I’d like to.

Now that my singing career is winding up, I’m getting more free time to travel, and I’m starting by taking my bike to Ireland for a mate’s wedding. It would be really nice to couch surf a bit on the way and ease myself back into the community.

Music: I used to have such strident opinion! But now I guess there’s just so much damn choice out there I don’t know what to do with it all. I would say I’m open to anything apart from mumble rap. Cos I’m old and grumpy.

I’ve just read Feral by George Monbiot. Loved it.

Movies? We went to Everything Everywhere All at Once the other day and it was lovely. So nice being in a cinema again.

All the travelling, and climbing I’ve done had been amazing. I’ve been fortunate to make a lot of nice music too. I couldn’t really chose one thing. I’m very lucky to be able to say that I guess!
