About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Traveling to discover what I'd like to specialize in while enjoying the people and experiences around me on the way.
ABOUT ME
29, just finished 4 years helping a non profit get started and running, and taking a break before going back to get a masters degree.
I love adventure. The raw kind. Whether getting off the trail, or taking new route home from work, sometimes getting a little lost is the easiest way to begin.
I grew up with a big happy family - five brothers and sisters -and my parents always encouraged us to try new things. I got my love for the outdoors from them, because we never had money for anything more. all family vacations and times together were camping and hiking. And road tripping was a family thing too. You don't buy plane tickets for that many kids on one income. So we'd cram into the minivan and drive through the night, from Phoenix to Minneapolis, and visa versa. Books and imagination, not video games. Since graduating from high school, I've done a mix of education, travel, and working to enable the first two.
PHILOSOPHY
We are not our own. Life is short, eternity is forever. Stay young, grow wise. Just don't waste your life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have heard wonderful stories and genuinely believe that couch surfing is the best way to travel for the friends and stories and experiences with real people. I've stayed on many couches without the app, finding and making connections on my own. That's harder though (I'll tell you stories later), ha ha, and I trust couchsurfing will improve that experience.
Interests
Running every day. Exploring. Anything. Old buildings, empty deserts, new cities, and people's lives. Watching movies, climbing mountains, religious conversations, checkers, mentoring teenagers, strategic board games, downhill skiing, road trips, good food, piano, backpacking... and anything that involves adrenaline or the outdoors, for the most part.

Music, Movies, and Books
I've been listening to audiobooks more than anything lately, and don't mind sounds, but I am happy to have some chill or some pump when I'm going for a run. Christopher Nolan makes several of my favorite movies. Movies is probably where I am most diverse. I get a kick out of the occasional foreign language film, but I preferred action movies with deep and complicated plot lines.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Flying over the Grand Canyon in a small plane was really special. I have hiked the Grand Canyon from the top to the bottom and back in one day from both the north side and the south side on different occasions, so it's a special place for me, and that perspective from the plane was incredible!
