ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Sergey and I'm a 23 year old living and working in Chicago. I participated in CouchSurfing while studying abroad in 2010 and would love to return the kindness that people showed me when I was travelling through their area. I enjoy watching and playing sports, drinking good beers, and meeting new people from all walks of life. I've grown up in Chicago and love the city and would be happy to show you all it has to offer.
PHILOSOPHY
Keep your eyes, ears, heart and mind open. Don’t ever accept things at face value and always ask why. Treat others as you would be treated and always pay it forward when you can. Don’t settle for less than you deserve, life’s too short to be unhappy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Looking to return the favor from when I was travelling in Europe, I am looking to start hosting and meeting people that come through Chicago.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfing: I started Couchsurfing while studying abroad in Europe and got to meet some very nice people through stays in Amsterdam, Stockholm and Zurich
Hosting: I am opening my doors to have new Couchsurfers looking to explore Chicago a place to stay as they look to discover what I've already found
"I'm from the city in the mid-midwest, best city in the whole wide world"-Lupe Fiasco
Interests
Sports: Whether its playing or watching, I love being outside and tossing around a football or Frisbee, getting a game of softball together in the summer with friends, or sitting on the couch and cheering for my favorite team, DA BEARS (if you’re not sure why it’s pronounced as such, don’t worry I’ll teach ya)Reading and Writing: Avid reader, dabbler in writing, still waiting for the proverbial muse to hit me with the next big thing. Until then, I’ll take in as much of other people’s success in literature as I canTechnology: As its part of my job, I love keeping up with the latest trends and news in the tech world. From video games to phones to chuckling at people who wait in line for days for the latest Iphone, the world of technology is something I actively follow and participate in. Cooking and Eating: I fancy myself a pretty decent cook and love all those that can pass along some recipes or recommendations of cuisine. If you can cook, a trip to the store and a night of drinking and cooking should definitely be in order. If you can’t, you’re welcome to sample my cuisine or let me take you and show you the full gastronomic experience that is Chicago (deep dish pizza, hot dogs, and can I get an Italian Beef?!) The city is full of every kind of food you could ever want, let’s not have it go to waste. Drinking: I like beer and whiskey, beer and whiskey like me.Politics and healthy debate, fine wine, beautiful women, and travel travel travel

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Studying abroad in Greece and visiting the cave where Aristotle taught Alexander, brought 2000 years of history coursing through me to think that I was sitting in the same place he once did.
Exploring caves in Mexico, skydiving over Illinois, or white water rafting in West Virginia, life is a garden man, dig it.
