Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to live intentionally, truly SPENDING time-- not merely passing it, saving it, or wasting it
ABOUT ME
I've lived in Colombia (Bogotá and Medellín) for going on 2.5 years in total- I've been back and forth.
I love to dance- salsa, bachata, cumbia- and love to read and write. As well as travel, of course. And I like to follow local politics and try to think about how I can be a proactive part of this city, not just a long-term tourist.
PHILOSOPHY
Let your boat of life be light, packed with only what you need- a homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends worth the name, someone to love and someone to love you, a cat, a dog, and a pipe or two, enough to eat and enough to wear, and a little more than enough to drink, for thirst is a dangerous thing.
--Jerome K. Jerome, Three Men In a Boat
The best piety is to enjoy--when you can. You are doing the best then to save the earth's character as an agreeable planet. And enjoyment radiates.
--George Eliot, Middlemarch
Hell is to drift; heaven is to steer.
--George Bernard Shaw, Don Juan in Hell
Apártense vacas que la vida es corta.
--Gabriel García Márquez, Cien años de soledad

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm always blown away by the intimate conversations I have with strangers on the street, people next to me on the bus, taxi drivers, etc. I think it's these simpler, quieter moments that move me more than any breathtaking panoramas or daredevil stunts.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you Spanish, English, and how to dance (well, more than teach I can practice these things with you, and with gusto).
And to make homemade costumes.
Would love to be taught more about cooking, other languages, knitting, and really anything you want to share. Politics, philosophy, feminism, computer skills, theology, farming, gardening, etc. I want to learn to make more things with my hands.
And I love to hear about people's experiences, their successes and their failures, and learn from them. Love to listen to other people's philosophies and how they derive meaning from life. I can also babble about my own if you really want to know.
