ABOUT ME

I´m Lina Maria from Colombia, but for the year Agst.09-10 I´ll be living in Hamburg as an exchange student with a Scholarship from DAAD. I study Electronik Engineering and I wish that after I graduate, I can do a master focused in Biomedicine Engineering.
I´m very proud to be colombian, and as a good colombian I love to dance, get toghether with friends and family to talk and eat!
This is my first time in Europe and I hope to learn and visit alot of places in this espectacular continent. So far I´m enchanted with Hamburg and it´s surroundings.
I´m also a very family person: my mom is one of my best friends and my father is my idol, the person in which I trust the most.
I´m the oldest of three. My brother es very closed to my and I enjoy hanging out with him. My sister, 13 years older, is my baby girl!
I like to eat alot, but healthy. I like all sorts of food, but I´m not very good with strong spices. As well as eating, I like exercising. That gives me energy, it´s healthy and burns some of what I eat!
In my free time I like to read (my favorite author is Tolstoi) und I also like to travel, paint (its just a Hobby) and do collages with pictures.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy every minute of your life, because you never now what's behind the corner. Life is a gift that we have to enjoy with out exaggerations. The biggest joys of life are in the simple things, like breathing fresh air or hugging someone special

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I´ll be very glad to do a tour through Aachen! Right now I can´t receive any one in my couch because first I don´t have one and I live in a small student room.
This year that I´m spending in Europe I also want to travel alot, and it would be very nice if I could use someones couch every once in a while.
I think that this is also a great opportunity to learn about other countries and cultures. When I go back to Colombia, there I will be very happy to receive people in my couch

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had three experience in Couch Surfing: Amsterdam, Luxemburg and Düsseldorf. It was great in those three places, we shared alot about the different cultures, learned about the places around and had nice talks!

Interests

I like learning about other cultures and points of views. I'm also very interest in history facts, and specially now that I´m in Europe. I like to now a little of the history of the places I visit, why and how they are there.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite three movies are the trilogy of "The Lord of the Rings".
Music, well I like to listen to different types of music, but it depends on the moment to decide what types to listen to. I like rock (in Spanish, English and German), tropical music, love songs, reggea and classical music too. And I really like to dance salsa, merengue, vallenatos, bachata, pop and reggeaton. Once in a while I also like to listen to Rancheras.
I grew up listening the Beatles, Frank Sinatra and Abba, and I still love them.
I like to read a little of everything too, from classical to colombian and mondern autors. My favorite book is "The War and the Peace" of Tolstoi, but I also like "100 Años de Soledad" of García Márquez, and the trilogy from "Alexandros" of Massimo Manfredi, and "Rosario Tijeras" of Franco.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to dance salsa, merengue, bachata and vallenatos. I can also teach some words in Spanisch and I would love to practice my German, that I´m still learning.
I would be glad to share about colombian culture and my time here in Hamburg to guide who ever wants to visit this beautiful city. If some one wants to go to Colombia, I can also recomend some nice places to visit!
