ABOUT ME

My name is Mike. I hate kittens. Just jokes, I got no beef with kitties.

Life is good, the fam is health and the friends are fine. What else can you ask for?

I like to ride my bicylce (I like to ride my bike).

I live in a cool city. Actually it can get really cold.

I have no idea what I am doing with my life, and I'm cool with that.

I grew up on an acerage riding horses and crashing dirt bikes. Then I got soft for a few years. So I bought my first skateboard and started crashing again. What a relief. Now I am getting soft again, so I am looking for new things to crash. Cars are expensive. Snowboarding works, but it's scary so I wear my helmet for that. Not really as satisfying, but it's something anyways. Crashing couches is fun, but no solution to being soft. Hmmm.

I used to party a lot, now I try to keep it to a few beers. This new strategy has only been limitedly successful.

I like live music and I don't go out to hold up the walls (it means I dance, get it?) I'm on fire.

La langue française me passionne aussi, je fais une grande effort pour pouvoir bien m`exprimer. Je travaille en français au quotidien, puis je me compte très chanceux d`avoir cet opportunité.

I have run two marathons. Because of that I will claim to be an athlete until I die, even if I don`t exercise another day in my life. Mike Hudon, Athlete. I like it, sounds good!

I like to laugh and I am as down to earth as anyone who claims to be down to earth can be, because even making a statement like that contradicts being down to earth in some ways, doesn`t it? Hmmm.

PHILOSOPHY

Moderation in all things, including moderation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

(i thought this meant how do i participate in life, and i don't feel like changing it)

I was really lucky to volunteer as a basketball coach with a great group of kids. I feel like I was able to contribute a lot to their development, but I found it really rewarding personally as well.

I also volunteered one day a week for what seemed like A LONG TIME to help my buddy victor with his French homework. The idea was that I helped him with French and his mom would teach me chinese. Did you know that there are like 100 000 symbols in that language? Impossible. All I can say is chopstick, its pathetic.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Dave hooked us up in Newcastle. He was awesome and shared good wine. I totally passed out that night.

Locally I have attended activities with fellow couchsurfer, from playing soccer in the park to a French night. Good people out here.

I have met up for drinks with strangers and left with friends. That's why I dig this community so much.

Interests

I want to say everything, but that's a bullshit answer. Certainly not doing the dishes. I recently took a creative writting class. It was super fun and I am interested in working at that. I also recently dropped my roomates flatscreen, not interested in that. My budget, the jerk (spit), keeps me reading and I like that. Cross country ski season is about to get assulted, stoked for that too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies are trouble. The thing with music is that obviously I love it but I could't tell you my ten favorite songs, even if I knew what they are I would't be able to remember their names anyways, so I don't even try. I need to start making lists. Reading, love it. Currently tackling The Book of Negros. At first I didn't want anything to do with it. The snob in my has an aversion to anything "Oprah Book Club". But Pops recommended it and it is very good so far.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bike trip. Winnipeg to Ottawa, 2300 km, 17 days, pretty hardcore. Haha. I just spent some time in Hawaii and got to meet the ocean for the first time. That's pretty amazing. I once saw an albino guerilla fingering his own bum. Then he whipped his poo on the glass of the enclosure. Poor albino guerilla. Not a moments peace.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach, hmmm. The things that really hurt don't make you bleed. Learn, everyday. Today I learned that you need to look both left and right before entering trafic. That lesson sucks everytime. Share, because otherwise we are totally fucked.
