About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live well and be good!

ABOUT ME

I'm an open, smiley, friendly, fun-loving, outdoors enthusiast! I love social evenings that are shared over a beer in a pub or at home over a cup of tea. Also over a board game and the like. As a teacher I try to create a loving, whimsical, funny and creative learning environment for my little students (and enjoy when other aspects of my life are that way too). In the words of my mother at my age, I can't wait to be older to have more experience and wisdom - but I would like it now :) I think I can learn a lot from the people around me and those that I will meet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have only surfed for now, as my living situation doesn't lend itself well to hosting. But I will be very happy to host when I will be able to!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think almost all the major highlights of my 2 1/2 months trip to Italy in which I discovered couchsurfing are linked to couchsurfing! The experience of having a home away from home and friends with which to share meals, stories, activities even though you had only met the day before - it's extraordinary. I'm extremely grateful for this experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I'm an avid reader and have always had a book going since first grade. I love a variety of subjects, one of my favorite themes recently is post-apocalyptic societies (dystopian or not). Among my favorite books:
Many from Margaret Atwood (Oryx and Crake, Handmaid's tale, Cat's Eye...)
Better Off (Eric Brende)
Ender's Game (Orson Scott Card)
The Stand (Stephen King)
Angela's Ashes (Frank McCourt)

Music: Sometimes I love a singer or a band, sometimes I develop an addiction for only one song... here are a few: Regina Spektor, Les Cowboys Fringants, Mumford and Sons, Sigur Rós, The Once, Francis Cabrel, Cirque du Soleil.

Movies: Juno, L'auberge espagnole, Away we go, Another Year, Lord of the Rings, La vita è bella, As it is in Heaven.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Throughout a summer, I have seen 12-15 year old campers bike through 12 days of hills, and hills, and bigger hills while carrying all their camping gear, buying groceries and cooking their meals with, apart from the few inevitable complaints, smiles on their faces! They have amazed me :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Creative activities to entertain groups of children!
A beginner's guide to modern dancing (taught by a beginner)!
Basic bike mechanics?
The French, English and Italian languages.

I always like to be taught new recipes!
