About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make life vivid

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Southern California but later escaped to beautiful Vermont. Now Im living in Portland, Oregon working and trying to explore more both locally and abroad. My passions are learning and understanding the wonders of our world, especially the people that are within it. I believe that many of the world's problems can be dissolved with open-mindedness, thick passports, and an unwavering love for humanity, regardless of nationality or race. Aside from that, I'm a happy and easygoing guy looking to have some excellent/fun/unique experiences while I am still able. Each day is something to be grateful for since you never know what is going to happen next. It really doesn't take much to please me aside from some good company...nature, and perhaps a beer.

PHILOSOPHY

Live a full life, free of regrets, and filled with friends and great experiences. While you're at it, make the effort to help others who aren't as fortunate or lucky enjoy their lives as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is easy to see that we are all becoming increasingly interconnected and that the world is smaller than it has ever been. If everyone wants to play in the sandbox we all need to understand, appreciate, respect, and enjoy each other. Otherwise you end up with societies built around fear, nationalism, and hatred.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Trekking in the Himalayas and experiencing the wonderful sights and people of Northern India
-Seeing the human castles in Vilafranca, Spain during their annual celebrations
-Sitting on a wild crocodile and then hand-feeding live chickens to his friends in Paga, Ghana
-Being chased off of a stoop in Northern Ghana, which turned out not to be a stoop at all. It was a throne for a chief that, if he has seen me sitting on it, would have ordered for the sacrifice of a goat or a cow to the gods...at my expense of course
-Dahab, Egypt, one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen
-Trekking the Simien Mountains and experiencing the most powerful lightning storm I have ever seen
-Camping in the Western Desert and spending a few amazing days with the wonderful people of Siwa
