ABOUT ME

I grew up in a suburb the states, but right now I go to university in Montreal and I'm trying to acclimate, although my French is awful. I've spent a few weeks in Japan and Spain, and I hope to travel more both internationally and around Canada. I'd love to get to know people from different backgrounds and I enjoy getting a local's perspective when I travel. English is the only language that I can honestly say I'm fluent in, but I've studied a bit of Spanish and Japanese.

I'm a pretty avid reader, although I have trouble finishing novels. My tastes are pretty eclectic and I'm always open to suggestions. Right now my favorites are Pride and Prejudice, The Metamorphosis by Kafka, Anna Karenina by Tolstoy, Beloved by Toni Morrison, The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera, and After Dark by Murakami Haruki. I also have a soft spot for chick-lit and fantasies.
