Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To prove John Donne right: 'No man is an island.'
ABOUT ME
I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, but I've also lived in Moscow, Salt Lake City, New York City, and Washington, D.C. Currently I live in Bamako, Mali, doing health communications for Johns Hopkins University.
PHILOSOPHY
"Live simply." Never mind that Patagonia recently started printing this on T-shirts.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd like to host fellow Couch Surfers who come through Bamako.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new to the CouchSurfing community, but not to its philosophy. When I moved to New York after college, my housing arrangements fell through and a stranger took me in for the first two nights. His name was John, and he said the same thing had happened to him a few years earlier. It was his way of paying it forward, and this is my way of paying it forward.
Interests
Running is my passion. I enjoy learning about the world through documentaries and art museums.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I took two years off from college to live in Russia. I didn't know the language or the culture or the people at first, but I came to embrace it all. My eyes had really been opened to the power of travel and service.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd really like to learn photography. And I can help fellow Couch Surfers improve their English or running technique.
