Overview
About Me
Hi! We are Eimhin (pronounced Evan because the Irish language is silly) and Alice (pronounced as it should be). I am Irish and Alice is English. In July 2015 we embarked on our quest to travel around the world, covering all of the continents in a journey that will take us perhaps longer than five years. We aim to take our time on this journey and to get to know the countries, cultures and people that we encounter along the way. We are both interested in Couchsurfing as a way of getting to know new people and to forge new friendships with like-minded travellers. I travel on Nelly (my old Honda C90 moped) and Alice in Don (her Mercedes Sprinter van).
I consider myself very imaginative and I enjoy making things. I am independent, laid back and easy to get along with. Some might say that I have my head in the clouds but I'm a dreamer and adamant about realising as many of them as I can. I have worked in a range of different jobs as I like to learn about almost most things! I was the Head Brewer for Nailsworth Brewery in England for a the last few years, studied sculpture and have worked as an artist, film-maker, carpenter for a circus, pizza chef in an Italian restaurant, a tour guide for a cave amongst many other things!
Alice is a glider pilot and has a great passion for flying. She intends to fly in each country e visit (around 45 or so!). She is a qualified electrician and spends a lot of her spare time in Nailsworth Community Workshop where she has learned a variety of different practical skills and crafts including woodwork to leather work. She also volunteers at the workshop. Alice has a passion for cooking and loves to learn and experience new things.
However, I don't feel you can get a sense of a persons true personality through a summary in a little box, so if you would be kind enough to host us you can get to know us a little bit better!
PHILOSOPHY
Life is an adventure to be lived not a problem to be solved. live it, experience it and learn from it, grab every opportunity, be wild crazy and rebellious with your ideas and how you go about them, never hold back, be open and positive and see the benefits of everything be it terrific or tragic its all worth something.
Rejoice in the little things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We have a van that we are converting into our home (it has a mattress in the back) so for us Couchsurfing is not simply a tool to find a free place to stay. The important aspect of couchsurfing for us is having the opportunity to meet different people which provides us with a more enriching experience of the places we choose to visit. If we request to stay with you it is because we want to meet you.
Interests
We like lots of things... food, drink, music, art, travelling (obviously), writing, photography, having fun, learning things, meeting people and trying to bring a smile to faces of the people we meet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
just one? Life is full of amazing moments. But perhaps they should be revealed through a good conversation over a nice beer.
Teach, Learn, Share
Of course! We like to teach learn and share.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Alice and I are both great at cooking and are always happy to feed others or to teach how to cook. I am an artist and am adept i drawing, sculpture, photography and film and always willing to share knowledge. Alice is a handy craftswoman herself and can teach a wide range of skills. Also if you want to know anything about flying gliders just get her started on the subject and you will be doing well to stop her!
