About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet interesting and like minded people here at home and while traveling. There is nothing better than seeing a city through the eyes of a local. Being able to cut through some of the bs tourist traps and really enjoy a new place with good advice and less hassle.
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised Philadelphia. I have never lived anywhere else but am very eager to finally change that in the coming years. That or at least some long term travel. I love traveling for the different perspectives on life you gain from people in all other walks of life. I love wandering through a city and admiring its architecture, people, music, food and bars. I enjoy talking with friends over drinks, shaking my ass on the dance floor or just relaxing at my house or in a park with a couple of joints.
PHILOSOPHY
Work in order to provide for living. For experiences. Don't let work dictate your life. It'll be your biggest regret.
"Never impose on others what you would not choose for yourself." Confucius (551âÃâ¬Ãâ479 B.C.)
Live your life to the fullest and try to affect others in only a positive way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've just started hosting again and am excited to show people around my city again. I haven't kept up with the local CS community in some time. I should change that.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Great. I can honestly say I personally have had no bad experiences with hosting people and all the CS meetups in the city I have been to have been fun and interesting.
Interests
Music, reading, drinking, meeting new people ("new" as in people I hadn't met before not "new" as in babies), travel, camping, democracy, pot, the internet, atheism, local beers, Irish whiskey, the universe, zombies, thinking about what I'd do and where I'd go if there were some sort of apocalypse or all out civil war, getting "off the grid", opening a hostel somewhere perpetually warm, sailing around the world or at least the Caribbean or Mediterranean seas, making people laugh and laughing at people.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Anything Monty Python, Mel Brooks, Will Ferrel. Blade Runner, Kids In the Hall's Brain Candy, Half Baked, Fifth Element, O' Brother Where Art Thou, Black Dynamite, Rubber, The Shining, Hobo With a Shotgun, the list could go on and on including too many documentaries to name.
Music: Jimi Hendrix, Radiohead, early to mid 90's rap and hip hop, Ida Maria, Bob Marley, Miles Davis, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Blur, Gorillaz, Deftones, Detroit Spinners, The Ojays, Led Zepplin, The Animals, The Four Tops, Harry Belafonte, ......
Authors/Books: Kurt Vonnegut, Joseph Heller, Charles Bukowski, Hunter S. Thompson, Devil in the White City, Kite Runner, 1421, Hemmingway, and even a couple of comic books The Walking Dead and Invincible.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Amazing is a strong word and I think I need to save that for future experiences. But great, fun, extremely interesting. Those are words I'd use for Burning Man, Mardi Gras in New Orleans on French Street and out in the neighborhoods for the parades. Diving in to cenotes in Mexico. Making my way through chaotic, crowded "bus terminals" in Nicaragua (nicer than D.C.'s greyhound terminal though) and actually getting on the correct bus. Smoking pot legally in Amsterdam.
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Saint Lucia, United States
