Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I moved to Austin, Texas in February 2010 and discovered a wonderful couchsurfing community here and have met some wonderful people so far.

But I now live in Denali National Park and want to allow the chance for surfers to check out the hood.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted a few couchsurfers during the summer of 2010 on the sweet couch located in Denali National Park.

Interests

I enjoy music of all kinds, but mostly listen to folk music. I'm learning to play the mandolin, but just in the beginning stages of toughening the skin on the tips of the fingers. In 2007 I sold my truck, gave away many of my (useless) possessions/things and took a job working in Denali National Park, Alaska. After 4 summers I still feel the need to return to this beautiful place! I love to ride bikes and am planning a bike tour in the next 3 years.

Denali National Park in August
Camped in Amsterdam for 5 weeks
Landed on a glacier of the tallest mountain in North America
Motorbiked Northern Thailand for 25 days
Took a shot of whiskey with a dead cobra snake in the bottom of the bottle
Became a Wilderness EMT

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach basic bicycle maintenance and bluegrass style mandolin. Enjoy sharing travel stories and learning about other cultures across the globe.
