Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to break from the norm - to live with a purpose - to scratch the itch.
ABOUT ME
Rose and I are a fun loving couple (31 & 35 yrs old) who are off on our first real travel experience together. We met in London 5 years ago at the apex of our ´work hard - play hard´ days and have been happily mellowing with age together ever since.
We get to some great places on our normal holidays, but this is the first time we´ve had the opportunity to take an extended break together - we´re currently travelling through South America for 4 months.
We´d really like to enrich our experience as we travel the continent by meeting like minded people.
PHILOSOPHY
We´re in the process of trying to redefine our personal philosophy. Both as individuals and as a couple. many of the things that we used to live for seem a bit frivolous now.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We´re not looking for a place to sleep on our travels, but would very much like to meet up with like minded individuals and couples for a coffee or a drink.
We´re very very new to the CS project (first update to the profile), but will be very open to see how our involvement might develop in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
none so far - well none officially related to this project, but I do remember a great time i had with a family in Korea when I was 13 years old.
My father and I were travelling for the first time - mom was back home studying. We were in a small town on the coast and we came across a sign shop - which was my dad´s trade/occupation at the time. We wanted to see what his workshop and business was like and maybe share a chat. After a slightly awkward introduction due to a significant language barrier, they got to chatting by drawing. It was very cool - both of them had artistic skills due to their trade and the conversation ranged from work to their interests via sketching out little icons or scenes.
The chap in the shop was very gregarious and invited us for dinner with his family in their home in the back of the workshop. I think my dad even got invited out for drinks with him and his friends later that evening.
This was more than 20 years ago and i can still remember it vividly. This is the kind of experience that makes your travels so much more valuable.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Flown a small plane (albiet for only a minute or so) then treated to some aerobatics by our instructor (loop de loop etc.)
Teach, Learn, Share
As a digital strategist working in one of the largest ecomonmic centres in the world I have much to share about the internet, websites, digital marketing and communications. Rose is an absolute star with design applications (Photoshop, Indesign etc). We´re happy to share our experiences or expertise in our professional domains.
We´re both trying to learn Spanish, but our heavy workloads have hindered us until now. We´re very much beginners, but would love to have the opportunity to practice with some patient native speakers.
