About Me

ABOUT ME

I recently moved to Illinois from NYC to be with my boyfriend. I am a lover of my bicycle. I have gotten involved in underground street races and bike advocacy. Currently, I spend a lot of time in my garden as well as in the kitchen. My boyfriend and I plan to build a bread oven. I am extremely passionate about design. This is my field after all. I love exploring culture and immersing myself in it. I have traveled in Italy, Eastern Europe and Brazil. I have lived in Seattle, Portland, NYC and now Illinois. I am a hybrid of adventure and homebody. I like to explore but come home and chill.

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes, I love them all. I spend a lot of time reading design, anthropology and when I have time fiction. One of my favorite authors is Paul Auster. One of my favorite books is Catcher in the Rye. I don't know where I would be without music. I love finding new bands to listen to, although I guess I tend to lean more towards indie and experimental/electronica, i.e anything from David Byrne to Fugazi and to the Battles and B. Fleischman. As for movies, Wang Kar Wai is one of my favorite directors, but Gus Van Sant is definitely creeping in there. In general, I usually find myself watching foreign independent films. Two of my favorites In the Mood for Love and Paradise Now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I grew up in a mountain climbing family, so I have seen a lot of amazing aspects of nature. My brothers live in Alaska, which is the only place I have truly been able to relax and nature utterly consumed me. Nature is an important part of who I am.
