ABOUT ME

I'm Irish - I lived just north of Dublin until I was six years old. I still have a giant family there, and they are an important part of my life.

I've lived in Raleigh, North Carolina in the States for most of my life. I'm attending UNC - Chapel Hill as an Environmental Studies and Business Administration double major. I really hope that I can combine these two disciplines in some way after I graduate. I would love to do environmental consulting.

Right now I'm studying international business in the GLOBE Program. The program has 15 students from each of UNC-CH, Copenhagen Business School, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Each semester we will be going to one of the different home universities to take classes together. Right now we are all in Copenhagen, and in January we'll be in Hong Kong. Then next autumn I will have the pleasure of hosting them back in UNC! It's an amazing program for studying business with people from different backgrounds, and it gives me lots of opportunity to travel :) It should be an amazing year.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm studying and traveling from Aug. 2009 until June 2010. Hopefully I will be Couch Surfing during that time, and returning the favor if any of my hosts want to visit North Carolina!

I enjoy people watching, architecture, wildlife, being a student, having a good time, and eating big dinners.

I love the outdoors - hiking, running, swimming, kayaking, playing soccer and ultimate frisbee.

I enjoy reading. A couple books that I like are: "Lord of the Rings", the Harry Potter Series, "Crime & Punishment", "The Shadow of the Wind", and "A Confederacy of Dunces"

I like to listen to many different types of music. Anything from Sigur Rós to Led Zeppelin. I enjoy classical music, sound tracks (like Gladiator and Amélie), classic rock, Prog Rock (like Pink Floyd), minimalist, trance. Anything really, because you kind find a genius in every genre..
