About Me

***We're moving*** Caio's already living in London (Watford) while Carla's in Brazil preparing to go to Italy and get her citizenship before moving (finally!) to London. That's why we can't host at the moment. But we'll hopefully have a couch (not bed, sorry) in London very soon!

CURRENT MISSION

To make new friends and learn about different cultures.

ABOUT ME

Small and friendly couple.

PHILOSOPHY

Never refuse the chance of eating the dessert.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We've been trying to spread the couchsurfing idea as much as we can among friends, acquaintances, co-workers, and students.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We started off attending Couchsurfing events and hosting people in London when we were not working or, at least, showing around the city. We've met really nice people thanks to CS, like the French girls we hosted there, the guys who received us in Liverpool and in Central Europe. We've actually made personal friends, like our hosts from NYC (Kevin) and Amsterdam (Neils).

Interests

To exchange experiences, make new friends, eat good food, drink good beer, and travel, travel and travel!

  • concerts
  • dining
  • chocolate
  • beer
  • partying
  • drinking
  • traveling

Music, Movies, and Books

Beatles, Pearl Jam, Kings of Leon, Strokes, Bob Dylan, Arctic Monkeys, Caro Emerald, Franz Ferdinand, The Black Keys, Amy Winehouse... Caio also enjoys Brazilian music.

The Catcher in the Rye, The Picture of Doryan Gray, Le Petit Principe, 1984, The Book Thief, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Brazilian literature in general (more Machado de Assis than Paulo Coelho) and Lonely Planet guides, of course :)

We love films and series! We unfortunately don't go to the cinema as frequently as we'd like because we're a bit tight-fisted and Carla thinks that some kinds of films (especially comedies) aren't worth the effort (and the money). Caio thinks that's quite a stupid theory. Well, at least we agree that Netflix is awesome.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2010 we spent the Summer Solstice at Stonehenge with other CouchSurfers and it was great, we`ll never forget it!
UPDATING: This year we went to a Rolling Stones concert in São Paulo. It was amazing! Nothing to do with CS, but a great experience to boast about :P

Teach, Learn, Share

We can teach you how to make proper caipirinhas and brigadeiro, a Brazilian chocolate sweet that we usually eat at kids parties. We can practise English, Portuguese and Spanish (not necessarily in this order).

What I Can Share with Hosts

We have many stories and tips to share about our life in London (2009/10) and our Eurotrip (2010).

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Brazil, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, United Kingdom
