ABOUT ME

I love travelling and meeting new people. I dont like to be a tourist. I like to meet the people who live in the country and see the place from their eyes. I like to feel a part of the community. I am pretty outgoing and love to have a laugh, smile and have fun all the time. I dont like to sweat the small stuff and always try to look on the bright side of everything. As long as I am alive and in one piece then I should be happy no matter what.

I like outdoor actiities. I love swimming, the beach, any sports on the beach, scuba diving, rock climbing and running. I also like reading, music, going out and meeting new people. I want to try to learn more languages.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couch surfed all over Italy and am a convert. I love it. I had so much fun and the people I met were amazing. I hosted a number of people in my lovely house in Bangkok when I lived there. At the moment I am loving meeting new Couch surfers and being hosted in the USA! I look forward to meeting new people and making new friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed on 2 different month long trips n Italy with more than 10 different couch surfers. I really loved meeting the people and in many homes was treated like family. I felt so lucky to have met these people as I believe I got to experience real Italy rather than tourist Italy. My favourite experience would have to be in Napoli where our host treated us like family and showed us his life and made our time there unbelievably enjoyable, so much so that we stayed 6 days when we had only planned to stay 1! I even went back and stayed another week with him the following year and his family was again the most generous host. My second favourite experience was in my beloved palermo :)

Now I have couch surfed all over the world I have had so many amazing encounters and experiences and met so many wonderful people it is hard to say which was my favourite!

Interests

Going to the beach, swimming, scuba diving, rock climbing, camping, hiking, running, dancing, singing, reading, i like my job too so working, learning about other people, languages and cultures, history and I also love architecture. Not a big art fan in the conventional sense but I believe music and architecture and dancing is art as well, so I do like different types of art.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like historical fiction. I love too many books to be able to say.

My favourite film at the moment is The Fall. Apart from that I love foreign films.

I like all types of music (except most rap and r&b!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The opportunity to live in asia for 5 years as an exchange student, whilst in university and then to work at the UN are combined some of the best things I have done...apart from that its all about the beach...

The beautiful coral on the great barrier reef in australia, the sunset over Koh Tao after arriving back from a scuba diving trip and Sydney harbour by speed boat.

I think I can learn something from every person I meet and every experience I have. However, preferably I enjoy meeting and learning from open minded, fun loving and gregarious people.
