About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel to all seven continents, become a beekeeper, get through the list of 1001 books to read before you die, climb tall things, and wander this wild world.

ABOUT ME

I'm a 21 year old student who has unhealthy obsessions with both plants and chocolate, in about equal measure. I grew up in the northeast of the USA, but I left the country for university at age eighteen and I've been jumping on planes, cars, and bikes ever since, trying to see as much of this crazy world as I can get my hands on. I'm very easygoing and outgoing and I love racking up new experiences, which in the past have included skiing behind a horse, icebreaker canoeing, eating fried cheese balls, watching kiwi soap operas, kickboxing, white water kayaking, driving halfway across the country, gummi bear martinis, sleeping on abandoned beaches, ice climbing, and painting life-size portraits of my friends. I'm also think the outdoors are pretty great. Hiking, skiing, canoeing, rock climbing, kayaking, sleeping in igloos, and anything else you can think of - chances are I've either done it or would love to try. Also, I grew up near Boston, so I can do a funny accent for you if you want. LOBSTA!

PHILOSOPHY

I found a fridge magnet that sums it up nicely-
"Ever notice that 'what the hell' is always the right decision?"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think one of the most amazing experiences I've had so far was sea kayaking in Tadoussac, Quebec, in October of last year. October is no season to be kayaking in Canada, so we were freezing our asses off, and to top it off, nobody in my kayak knew how to work the rudder, we almost capsized, I had to spend two nights sleeping with three other people in a two person tent, and we kept undercooking the pasta. But on the last day, we finally figured everything out and spent an utterly incredible day just skimming along the coastline, seeing seals and whales surface right next to us, and taking in the fall foliage and waterfalls along the coastline. I couldn't feel my hands for about a week afterwards, but I wouldn't take back that experience for anything.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to paint, draw, cook a mean pizza, rock climb, ski, crazy yoga moves, and riddles that may drive you crazy. I'd really like to learn how to do a better headstand - I keep falling over. I can teach you how to slackline, but I'm still a beginner, so I can learn more about that too!
