About Me

CURRENT MISSION

In search of world peace, inner harmony and a good Jewish bagel!

ABOUT ME

Why in the world would a 60-year old Californian gal spend all of 2017 exploring France? All my most magical experiences occurred there and I firmly believe there are more about to happen. 2017 may just be my year of minor miracles.... maybe even major ones!

A member of the human race, I espouse lifelong learning about other people and other cultures.

Upon leaving this earth, I hope to leave it a slightly better, a slightly cleaner, and a slightly happier place. I like to laugh and make other people laugh. I laugh whenever I miss an overhead smash in tennis which means I laugh A LOT. My favorite quote: "I refuse to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed person."

PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE:

The Golden Rule.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a few people, but now I'm about to couchsurf myself! I'm spending all of 2017 in France, looking for that special town where I might ultimately plant myself permanently.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been spontaneously rescued in Italy, Hawaii, Tunisia and HongKong. This means complete strangers befriended me, spent time with me, and lodged me. These were magical experiences! I will forever be grateful to them and hope to pay the universe back for my wonderful karma.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love non-US films because they show the world from a different point of view, and because they don't always have a happy ending.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 13 (back in 1969) and living in the Netherlands for the summer, my brother was 15 and camping/backpacking all over Europe with a buddy of his. There was no way of knowing at any given day in what country they were.

One weekend during that summer, I was visiting Paris-- walking in the Notre Dame cathedral, when I spot my brother!!! After hugging, I asked "Where's Ed?" (the friend he was camping with). My brother told me they had split up a couple of weeks ago. As he was saying this, I looked over his shoulder and see Ed!!!

Coincidence? My brother doesn't believe in coincidence-- he calls it synchronicity, and he says it changed his outlook on life. It was truly the most amazing coincidence/synchronicitous event of my life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some simple home-cooked meals. I'm mostly vegetarian, but true to my motto: "Everything in life is negotiable."
