About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To Deepen Connection with others, my self and the natural world. To Stretch, Grow, & Transform.

ABOUT ME

I am passionate about exploring every aspect of the depth and breadth of our human experiences. From the emotional, to the spiritual, from the physical to the intellectual.

I enjoy being in nature, learning, community building, connecting with friends and family, traveling, being of service to others, campfires, singing, laughing, bicycling, giving spontaneous compliments and heading out on adventures of all kinds.

I love , living on the edge and facing my fears, going on road trips and far away adventures, talking late into the night about life and love. Adore hiking, cooking, reading, learning, writing, taking workshops/classes, baking, decorating/creating space, going to farmer's markets, making friends, dreaming big dreams...

I occasionally practice the skills I learned in our permaculture certification course and realized that with almost every principle of permaculture, at the root of its truth is the importance of connection to/with others. It's all about relationships. It's all about community. It's all about sharing and connecting and loving. So that is one thing I'm all lit up about right now.

I feel so much gratitude for the people in my life who fill it with richness, learning, art, beauty, laughter, growth, friendship and profound love. I feel incredibly fortunate and blessed in this life.

PHILOSOPHY

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves: Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually who are you NOT to be? Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the glory that is within us. It is not within some of us, its in EVERYONE. And when we let our own light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. We are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." ~ Marianne Williamson in A Return to Love "Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love" ~ Martin Luther King Jr.and"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others" ~ Mohandas K. Gandhi

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunrise sets at Burning Man. Nothing else quite like it. You should try it sometime.

The huge pink moon rising over the Alaskan pacific ocean while rocking in a 32' aluminium gillnet drift boat over the swelling of ever-present ever-moving tides that sweep millions of horny salmon and salty water up into the glacial-fed rivers to spawn, then gently guide them back to open ocean. Glorious nature revealing magic in every moment. The ebb and flow of life.Nov. 28th 2011, at 12:12 a.m. I witnessed a friend take her last breaths of life in the arms of her loving husband, and surrounded by dearest friends, music, comfort and love. It was a sudden death, she was walking and talking on Thursday Nov. 24th, Thanksgiving Day. At the hospital the next morning the CT scan revealed this news: One of the most rare and rapidly growing brain tumors, a Glioblastoma, was going to take her life with exponential speed. I have never seen someone die so beautifully, so peacefully, so ready. She was 52. It changed my life. LIFE has so much more meaning, potency, juicyness, brillance, magic and beauty right now. I hope I can continue to hold this awareness of the preciousness of life for many many more rotations around the sun. Infinite Gratitude.
