About Me

Hi human! I'm also a human.
Pretty happy we have so much in common already!

I guess what defines me best is the constant state of equilibrium in which I live;
* Firmly grounded, pretty damn logical and organised, I plan things, make sure everything works, provide safe spaces for the other humans who surround me, and try to build things for the future.
* And yet, I am also passionately creative, fiercely loving, and always curious and jumping into new experiences.

This translates in everything I do - for example;
Planning meticulously some of my trips vs. randomly booking tickets at the last minute,
Working as a very rigorous Software Engineer and User Experience Designer vs. having spent 5 years making things (installations, costumes, headdresses, sculptures, etc (see some stuff here: www.incidence.io)),
Spending hours in long discussions, elaborating complicated theories vs. running around in a desert trying to forget about time and space.

I love long meaningful conversations, but I'm also really happy spending days without talking and just doing my own stuff.
When I travel I tend to go with the flow, doing what feels right here and now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Each of my travels have been amazing not because of where I went (although obviously it contributed to it), but mostly because of the incredible people I've met and conversations I have had there. So for me couchsurfing just makes a lot of sense.

Sadly I don't have an official track record to show here because I've mostly hosted and been hosted outside of CS through random meetings while traveling, friends, friends of friends, etc.

At the moment I would only welcome surfers whose profile and message somehow really resonated with me (or if we've met before through CS or elsewhere), because I live in a shared house, and I would need to run by my housemates anything that might impact them.

Interests

I'm interested in mostly anything, as long as it's conveyed by someone who's really passionate and knowledgeable about it.

  • arts
  • writing
  • design
  • festivals
  • dancing
  • dining
  • cooking
  • politics
  • reading
  • conversation

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Running an improvised kitchen to feed 40-ish people in the middle of a forest.
Built a 3x2m paper mache cat.
Crossed Europe meeting the most amazing people and having eye-opening conversations.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always curious about people's personal experience, whatever it is, and I'm also particularly interested into people's art/design/handcraft skills and knowledge.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to have long, passionate conversations about a variety of subjects. Here are a few I've played with in the past few months: Technology and its impact on society, the connexion of science and spirituality, psychology, dreams, governance structures, political frameworks, the impact of economical structures on humans and the environment, etc.
I'm very respectful of other people's beliefs and ways of living, and I only engage in conversations if it seems that those I interact with would appreciate to discuss on these subjects. I'm also very happy to be quiet and to mind my own business!
I can read tarot, and would be happy to give you a reading if you like (I practice non-magical (=psychological) tarot, ask me about it if you're interested).
